Good for you!

So, what would you call it if you were pushed across the isle and knocked down to the floor in the grocery store on a daily basis their Clem. Bullying or Assault?
Would love to hear from others about all the bullying that takes place here. The administration here seems to want to brush everything under the rug. I have heard numerous complaints from family and friends who have kids there who have had problems. I also understand (from very reliable sources LEO's) there are a couple of kids that should be in a juvenile facility that are allowed to attend school there.
Had a grandson attend there about 5 years ago who had one incident there, but had no other problems and went on to Chopticon, with no problems. Has the top administration at MB changed since then and the principal has no control of the school? Heard they have also of alot of teachers leaving.
My son attends there, and it is OUT OF CONTROL. The principle brushes everything under the rug to make her look good. Teachers are leaving, my neighbor's daughter has had 5 English teachers this year. OUT OF CONTROL.
Five English teachers in one year? That is bad.

Not if you do the Math.

I think my point was, you can't wait on the school to handle it. After several attempts, a report needs to be filed with the Sheriff's Office.
This bears repeating.
Don't wait for the school to handle it. Chances are, they won't. Don't even give them a chance to give you the runaround. If your child is attacked at school, call the police immediately and file a complaint.
Bullying is one thing, but the second they put their hands on your kid, now it's assault. By letting it go you just green light them to keep beating on your child. It's up to parents to protect their child - the school is not going to do that.
If I may ...
And there's not a damn thing you, or anyone, can do about it. I mean really, there's is not a damn thing that an be done about it. Nothing. It is a public school ran by teacher's unions. And by principles being paid over $110-150,000 per year, plus benefits, plus a very generous pension. Do you really think they care about your kids? Do you really think they care about some bullying going on? But go ahead, (public in general), and make excuses for the teachers. Oh woe for the poor downtrodden teachers. If any person, in the position as a teacher, that sees any bulling, and does nothing about it, are just as bad as the bully. They hide behind "policies", and the principle and the union instead. Instead of "leaving", those teachers, if they truly cared, would make a stand, and make a stink, and stand with the parents and kids, until changes were made. But that will never happen. Why? Because all parents are brainwashed into supporting, blindly, a failed public school system. And the parents that do make a stand are immediately shut down, marginalized, ridiculed. "Don't you know that teachers and administrators work extremely hard to teach?" They say. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Typical BS teacher support propaganda. Facts are never given. Only emotional innuendos, overtones and intimations that teachers really really care as well as administrators, and the system too, and are just trying to work through hard times.
Wake up people. You have been lied to for so long you think it is the truth.
Just curious.... Do you, or have you ever, had kids in school? Were you an involved parent? Or did you just send your kids to school and hope for the best. I ask because your post here seems to be of someone who likes to stand on the sidelines criticizing everyone else instead of being involved and being part of the solution. I was on PTSAs during all levels of my kids' education. Did Booster organizations as well. Chaperoned too many trips to count. Even overnight trips. Developed good working relationships, and even friendships, with several of my kids' teachers. Still keep in touch with them. Hell, my Mom was a teacher for 45 years. Your description regarding teachers is way way off.

You can believe that you made a difference, but in fact, you did nothing to change the corruption and slough. It was just a waste of time. But hey, you felt good doing it ... right?
Not sure what your experience is based on but this couldn't be further from accurate based on mine. My mother was a teacher for 35 +/- years between PG and Charles County (just recently retired). I have numerous close friends who are teachers in Charles and Calvert Counties. I can tell you that each year, more and more administrative responsibility is pushed down on teachers who are now forced to endure problem children without much support from up above. I have three kids in elementary school in Calvert and I've been involved over the years in various classroom activities. Teachers must focus much of their efforts and attention on kids who should not be included in the normal learning group at the detriment of well behaved children. Just last week, I spent about an hour with my oldest as part of a "Coffee House Poetry" event where kids all stood up to read their poems. As a parent, I wanted to scold two of the children who refused to sit quietly or even sit at all. The poor teacher was exhausted and embarrassed.
Teachers do care. They certainly don't get into this profession for the money and more of the money they earned is being directed into funding their own coursework. It's pathetic. When they do look to address problem kids, the admins do little other than (maybe) call a conference to which point the teacher is put on trial and the parents gets carte blanche when it comes to blaming the teacher. Don't mind that little Johnny hasn't done homework in 6 weeks or can't follow basic instructions ........
Teachers are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Don't be so foolish to think that teachers see all. Kids, especially as they get older, are sneaky and know exactly when and when not to do things. Even kids in elementary school know to push, shove, punch when a teacher has turned their head/back or while tucked away behind a wall. And when a student "tattles", it quickly becomes a "he said / she said" thing and there is no support. Their hands are tied to a large extent even when they catch Johnny red handed.
But the big reality here with all this bullying crap is mom and dad. Two things usually happen: 1) Mom and Dad honestly didn't realize that little Johnny can't keep his hands to himself. 2) Mom and Dad don't see the problem with it. In either scenario, the best course of action is the response of another Mom and Dad.
With #1, a friendly conversation with the parents, in private, usually solves the issue. It's potentially an embarrassing conversation but necessary. It can be handled politely and appropriately. And often, if they are decent parents, they will apologize and commit to following up with little Johnny. With #2, these people are just POS and unfortunately share the air with us. And if you inform them of the issue and they blow you off - you give them the heads up that the next time your kid comes home crying because little Johnny put his hands where they didn't belong, you are going to put your hands on little Johnny's daddy and drag his face across the front porch.

I dislike sticking up for LR because normally I want to punch his face for him, but he is correct. School administrators, by and large, do not give a single #### about your kid. They don't even give a fart. They care very much about their "success rate" and school image so they can keep their cushy job, bennies, and pensions, but they do not care about the kids at all.
I have known some amazing teachers in my time, but there are a good number of them who don't give a ####, either. I used to practically live at school when my kids were young, I was down there so often. It got worse after 9/11 and my kids would come home and tell me what their psycho teachers were spouting in class. I wanted to be involved in PTA, but the dragons that ran it kept it with just their little clique and "forgot" to notify parents when there was a meeting or something happening. But you better believe they were right there with their hand out come fundraiser time. Complaints were ignored. Complain more vigorously and your kid got targeted.
His description isn't 100%, but it's not way off at all. Several of my friends are teachers and it was amazing reading their FB posts after the 2016 election. Most of them literally should have been forced into a psychiatric facility and definitely NOT lording over a classroom of children. It was disturbing to watch.
See above. I have a MIL who is a elementary teacher and also a Facebook ranter who leans heavily to one side in her political views. Her page is a constant update of political memes (largely unvetted and inaccurate). I've cautioned her about this several times as Facebook allows the merging of one's professional and personal lives. People build perceptions - sometimes accurately - and that can influence your career. This doesn't mean she's a bad teacher (quite the contrary in my opinion). However, her political views and personal life shouldn't be made so open and available for scrutiny. That is true of any profession.
