Meanwhile, back at the DNC...

It's apparent she got the job because she was willing to break the rules and the law to ensure the bosses got what they wanted from the DNC.. when you need or want a rule breaker you aren't going to get the most solid, smartest person for the job.

You think there may be a few RNC emails out there saying 'how do we stop trump?" as opposed to 'how do we support whomever the people choose?"

According to Reince, he was smart enough to have those discussions in an undocumented way. Those aren't his exact words, but it was really clear what he was saying when he said that the DNC was dumb enough to have those conversations with staff in e-mail.

The larger point is that Trump laid out the blue print to overcome what we know was said and attempted be it in e mails, secret handshakes or smoke signals. Bernie could have won but it would have required him to do what Trump did; call turds turds.

Roughly a billion dollars worth of free advertising via media coverage didn't hurt Trump at all, either.

If Ron Paul, not Rand, Ron, had swung for the fences back in '08, '04, too, called people names, called out failings, he'd have gotten a ton of attention. How could MSNBC and CNN avoid him yelling at the camera how stupid and incompetent Dubbya was. As I say, we like a good fight. When you're arguing over our military, our economy, entitlements, civil liberties, I look forward to 2020 when someone walks up and punches Trump right in his big fat face and calls him a piece of #### after Donald insults them in a debate. Argue policy but don't let some SOB walk all over you and tell me your manners wouldn't allow you to stand up for yourself. :buddies:

Actually Larry a nice hard tooth rattling punch in the face would do The Donald a world of good. As long as it was followed up with a discussion on "manners".

These comments always surprise me. Since when is calling people what they are "insulting"? I mean, sure, insulting to them, but don't they deserve to be insulted? And more?

I appreciate Trump's candor. You all can stick with the speeches and soundbites if that's what trips your trigger.

And he didn't want to do that. So the question is, why not?

Is it because he's such a gentleman and a nice guy that he didn't want to call Hillary what she is? Didn't want to call DWS what she is?

Or is it because he's in the party bag and never had any intention of upsetting his meal ticket apple cart?

In his defense, it's not like he was too above it all to do what the kewl kids were doing. NO ONE was doing it. Trump found, early on, mudslinging, actually calling people names, would work and EVERYONE said it would end him any day now. I think Bernie was going to win his way or not at all and the idea of calling Hillary a lying, cheating, betraying, ugly, lumpy sack of bad potatoes never crossed his mind. Marco and Ted gave it a half hearted go and called Trump a bully.

Next cycle is when things might get interesting. Is Trump the only one who could make it work or will we return to the good old days of when America was great and candidates called one another apes and snakes and such?

As I've been pointing out for some time, Trump comes from a world where insults and aggression and true take no prisoners, business wise, is normal. This folks come from a world where they didn't know how to handle it. He gave them the bums rush and it was no contest once it became clear people were all too happy to hear all this.

I don't even know what that means. People are not apes and snakes, but they ARE lying and corrupt. I'm totally okay with them being called on it.

So tell me, as a Bernie Sanders supporter, why do you think he is now endorsing Hillary Clinton after she and her girlfriend at the DNC screwed him out of a fair campaign AND worked to suppress his supporters? Why do you think he's okay with that?

My point was the name calling. Lying Ted. Low Energy Jeb. Corrupt Hillary. Ugly, crippled, coward, little, all of that. In the old days, Lincoln was called an ape, Douglas a snake. It's not new. We just haven't done it in a long time. So, is Trump the only guy who can pull this off? Will it all return to the status quo next time or has he changed it?

I think Bernie doesn't really want it. If he did, he could have erupted, called the whole thing a fraud, demanded the convention be contested, blown the whole thing up and forced a real floor fight.

I think he betrayed his followers. I think he turns out to be either full of #### or just not enough of a leader to lay down for this. It was handed to him on a silver platter, the chance to knock her clean out and force the issue.

First and goal at the one. He punted.

Bernie has to go back to the Senate and face his Democrat friends. He may want a little pork for his State of Vermont.

Should he go back as a pariah?

Bernie was pretty stupid to think he ever had a chance with the Hillary machine and the Dem party, but he isn't so stupid as to return to the Senate and face his "Honorable" co-thieves after killing their Queen.

Now he goes back with a chip he can play. All part of the game.
