Media is obsessed with COVID cases, but death rate is what is important

Wrong as usual.

Any deaths from Covid are unnecessary and preventable. 130,000 americans have lost their lives due to Trumps incompetence and Ego.

Event he source of the Virus , China has managed to contain it while ur numbers continue to grow.

Had we had real leadership who didnt politicize a virus we wouldn't have the number of deaths we have nor the number we will have in a few more months.

The same people that cry about a 4 week old clump of cells that isn't capable of life on its own are now dismissing thousands of deaths becuase the dont want Trump to look bad.

And you guys claim to be pro-life.

Such hypocrisy.

Trump should have taken the recommendation of the Obama pandemic office and made sure the government has enough PPE on hand to deal with this crisis

He should also have helped states purchase and distribute PPE not say “you are on your own”

he should have allowed the scientists to take center stage and done what they suggested instead of touting quack cures.

He should have laid out federal guidelines on when it was safe to reopen and what thresholds needed to you be met to go to each phase of reopening.

All these things still need to happen. This pandemic is far from over.

The WH’s latest plan as of yesterday is to hope that people learn to deal with the sick and the dead and to not even attempt to encourage social distancing.

We can still hold out some hope that "Trump's mismanagement" will result in you getting a severe case then?

Beginning of March Dr. Fauci was saying young healthy people can still take cruises. The Surgeon General was saying not to wear masks they don't help. So Trump should have told all young people to go buy cruise tickets? Fauci has changed his tune significantly throughout this whole thing. Following him was like following a pinball.

Yeah because trump is going to ignore it until then

WASHINGTON — After several months of mixed messages on the coronavirus pandemic, the White House is settling on a new one: “Learn to live with it”
For nearly six months the administration offered a series of predictions and pronouncements that never came to fruition. From Trump promising that "the problem goes away in April" and predicting "packed churches all over our country" on Easter Sunday to Vice President Mike Pence's claim that "by Memorial Day weekend we will have this coronavirus epidemic behind us" to Jared Kushner's pronouncement the country would be "really rocking again" by July because Americans were "on the other side of the medical aspect of this."

This all followed the White House's initial message in January that the virus wasn't a threat at all. Asked if he was worried about a pandemic, Trump said at the time, "It's one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It's going to be just fine."

Even though you are simply a Trump hater, I agree with some of your points that the Trump administration had some missteps in handling the pandemic. Especially considering it is an election year and this virus had high visibility from day one. But I would point out one big thing. You say Trump should have taken the recommendation of the Obama pandemic office but you fail to acknowledge that the Obama administration paved the way for the shortage of PPE supplies. The Obama administration was warned early on that the US did not have an adequate supply of PPE and they came up short on doing anything about it despite have a few close calls with potential pandemics. Then they emptied much of the PPE supply during repeated health crisis and did nothing to replace it, leaving it for the next administration. This despite Obama claiming to be the "health care president." Trump has said a lot of things that are less than true, but when he said the Obama administration left the cupboard bare of PPE, he was spot on. It's a simple fact that democrats don't want to acknowledge, but that doesn't make it any less true. The shortage of PPE can be directly traced to the Obama administration's failure to build it up or even replenish what they took from it.

So Trump was unable to replenish the supply
in 3 years?

And closing the Pandemic response team in 2019 was Obama’s fault too?

That’s a big stretch.

Also it’s patently false

Trump never "promised" the problem goes away in April; however, there "is a scientific basis for some of Trump’s comments, as many respiratory viruses ebb in spring and summer, possibly because the warmer, wetter conditions hamper viral spread."

“Nothing is easy,” Trump said, but Xi “will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone.”

Several days later, in a White House meeting with state governors, he repeated the idea and was more specific on the outbreak’s timeline.

Trump, Feb. 10: Now, the virus that we’re talking about having to do — you know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat — as the heat comes in. Typically, that will go away in April. We’re in great shape though. We have 12 cases — 11 cases, and many of them are in good shape now.

So when Trump made these comments, we had 12 known cases, so the magnitude of the problem wasn't really known...AT THE TIME. During the SARS outbreak (which COVID-19 is related to) the outbreak basically died off as the temperature got warmer starting in April. So, naturally, the thought process figured COVID-19 would possibly follow a similar path.

in 3 years?

from your article, "It was full of supplies, but not enough to handle this particular pandemic. Most notably, the stockpile was short of N95 masks, the supply of which was depleted following the 2009 H1N1 outbreak during President Barack Obama’s tenure. " Sure does point to your FACTS supporting the Presidents claim that the cupboard is bare. :smack:
