Men and "snippage"

But wait, there's more...
So I was thinking today about how many guys I know who are snipped (don't ask me why I was thinking about this ). A lot of them are in their early 30s or younger, and have only one kid (in most instances) but a couple have two. Some are married, though most (I know) aren't.

Seems like more and more guys are getting snipped after one kid (and still in their 20s) than what might've been 10-20 years ago.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm thinking that it's quite a drastic change from our childhoods (or that of our parents) when 3, 4 or 5 kids was kinda the norm. :ohwell:

My thoughts were always it is better to have one child that you can afford to give a great college education to, than 4 that work at McDonalds.

My dad got snipped when I was maybe 8 or 9...and it was just me and my brother. My mom came from a family of 9 kids, and being Polish and therefore extremely fertile, had the good sense to know that if she didn't want a ton of kids, they should probably quit while they were ahead. I think it worked out well for them. They got divorced, and she was able to have a child with my stepfather, who had no prior children. She got her tubes tied a few years ago. My dad has never had an interest in fathering more children, and is now married to a wonderful woman with two of her own (all boys...you'd think with all the divorces and remarriages I could've scammed a sister somehow.).

Personally, I go back and forth as to how many more kids I (we) would like to have. I know that every child is different, but the one I have now is a total handful, and dominates a room. I can't imagine having another one like him (I'd have a nervous breakdown), so it would almost have to be an accident for me to agree to having another one at this point. I go back and forth though. Sometimes I think I'm okay with just the one, and five minutes later, I think it would be great to have one or even two more.

But back to the topic at hand...if we ever want to be "sterilized", he'll have to get snipped cause I am not going under the knife.

I'll be paying child support till the day before I turn 65. I SURE don't want any chance of extending that.

I agree wholeheartedly! My stance is it's more about "quality" than "quantity". :yay: Personally, I feel as though I'm happy with DQ and don't need to have any more. Additionally, I suspect that if I were to ever get married again, Mr. Crabcake would probably have one or more of his own from a prior marriage.

But I'm kinda surprised that so many guys are jumping on the snip-bandwagon (not that there's anything wrong with it) at such a young age. Most guys years ago were in their late 30s or older before they committed to the notion of not spreading their seed, it seemed.

I think it is smart...

That way there are less BuckyShane&Ray's in the world fathering a bunch of kids around town, or, by not getting scammed by some ho-bag that wants to trap him into a relationship. JMHO...

Thank you!! :huggy: It's very selfish to have more kids than you can afford. If everyone thought like this, there'd many happier, educated kids in the world. :yay:

I think that's the reason for a lot of men.
I could definately understand that ... but then again, nowadays, men typically pay only child support vs both c.s. and alimony (cuz of them feminist nazi's who had to make us all equal and crap :duh:) so are they really coming out ahead?

Another VERY good point!

Again, blame it on those dang feminist nazis! :bonk: I think I would prefer the days of being barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen and married to Mr. Cleaver; life seems like it was much simpler back then.

We had an agreement that if she needed a C section, they should do her at the same time. I ended up smelling my own burning flesh, and I don't regret it one tiny bit.

There are plenty of wimmins out there that would do that. A guy has to protect himself if he knows he doesn't want kids. If that is the case, then more power to him. :yay:

I'm not scared of much, but I'm really really really scared of having surgery.

It's just a shame though ... ignorant bizzitches. :ohwell: I don't blame guys one bit for covering their azzes by getting it done. :yay: Heck, it makes things easier on women, too, as far as birth control is concerned. While ya should always use rubbers, them things do break on occasion. :really:

I dated one once. She claimed she was knocked up. She was on the implant, so I thought I was safe. I didn't fall for her little trick, and once aunt flo came to visit, I was gone. I saw her about a year later and she still hated me for dumping her. I asked her why it was okay for her to try to trick me and she just gave me a blank stare. I'm just glad she pulled this early, rather than after I was more emotionally involved.

I don't blame you. It's much easier for a guy, but if they are already in there for a C section, it is safer than having your stud get cut also.

Even when I was married and planning on having a child I made him use protection for awhile because I didn't want to be prego on our trip to Jamaica. Three months after our return I ended up prego and I got my June girl baby. :yay: :lmao:
