I was putting at a little under 1.5meg yesterday on my 7meg service...
must be all the net traffic in WW I guess.

my pingtest wasn't that great and i'm 25 min. south of wildwood

but then again, i don't know what package we have, and when i start paying the bill, i'll worry about it :killingme

And I'm not paying for 7 Meg service!

My upload kind of sucks.. but I have to wonder if being wireless has anything to do with that.. Will my speeds improve if I hardwire into the router?

We're down south.. Dameron/Ridge..

We were having speed and connection problems about a year ago, and they came in and changed every single connector between the modem and the box. The installer used the wrong connectors, and we were suffering a LOT of signal loss from the street to the house.

its a big issue over here in wildewood and its getting really old....

I would bet it's not at your house, and it's not at Metrocast.. but probably within WildeWood. They've had cable and cable internet there a long time.. I'm sure they didn't use the most expensive connectors in the world during the initial install.. There's probably corrosion, rust, and a multitude of other issues from the street to the house.. and by street I mean where the cable enters Wildewood.

It has to be something because Chess is near me in WW and I have the 7meg also and im having a TON of issues with it. My Verizon DSL was worlds better than this. I paid for 1.5meg and got 1.5 and the service was never interupted. For Metrocast we pay for 7meg but only get 1.5meg and I have to reset the router/modem like twice a day. Trying to share 1.5 on 4 PCs SUCKS.

That's EXACTLY the issues we were having here.. Slow speeds and constantaly having to reset the modem.

Haven't had to reset the modem since they changed out all of the connectors.

I think the nodes are being overloaded.... I really do... I have friends on chancellors that primetime 4pm-10pm they get there full 6.97 meg a second

anyone i know in wildewood doesnt get that during those peak times...

Sorry, but it's taken a while to look you up in our system... never did get a MAC address but it's fine. I'm going to be making some changes this week that should help out speeds in some areas.:duel:
