Miley Cyrus Topless In Vanity Fair: Tells Fans She's "Embarrassed"

"Cyrus has issued a statement saying she is "embarrassed" by the Annie Leibovitz photo (scroll down for image):
"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," she said in the statement. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

Photographer Annie Leibovitz has commented:

"I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted," she said in a statement. "Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together, and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."

Miley tells Vanity Fair in the interview that "Sex and the City" is her favorite show, "I love it!"

Disney is also upset, while Vanity Fair claims they have done nothing wrong."

This crap makes me sick. This little girl is posing half nude. I've seen other shots of her online. Yet, Disney will stand by her and let little kids idolize her.

how old is she again? I mean, its not like it is showing nudity either way :shrug: It is art IMO as well..

but personally I hate it and think she looks nasty in the picture

Well, I thought she was 16, in which case I would have been ok with it as an expression of art, but 15 is a bit young for me (yes, that is only a year difference but a line I wouldn't personally think should be crossed :shrug. Nobody under 16 should be able to have pictures taken of them that imply anything sexual.

I have a problem with her half nude pics being in on the front of a magazine that will most likely be at the cash register of Wal*Fart or a grocery store for kids to see while you are waiting in line for 20 minutes. My niece idolizes this little girl. She's 7.

Are you saying that you would be ok with this picture if it, for example, weren't on the cover?

If she is only 16, I am not a fan of this picture even being taken, MUCH less being on the cover of a (major) magazine.

No. I think it was wrong of Vanity Fair to take it. I think it was wrong of her to pose for it. I think that it was really wrong of her parents to allow both to happen.

It's only kiddie porn if you are a perv to begin with. Nothing is showing. It creates the impression that she may be wearing nothing under a sheet, but it shows nothing.

It was a poor choice for someone who owes her success to a clean image. But it is definitely not porn.

Sometimes I have to wonder if some people want women to wear a burka so we don't have to be offended by seeing their bare arms or face, or god forbid a bare back!
