Biden classified files were sent to ANOTHER D.C. location before they were stored at think tank - by team led by aide who'd been recommended by Hunter - sparking more questions about the documents debacle

  • Files from Biden VP's office first went to a transition office near White House
  • Then then went to a temporary Penn Biden space in downtown D.C.
  • Eventually went to Penn Biden think tank that paid Biden $900,000
  • A Biden lawyer discovered classified material and called National Archives
  • Hunter 'recommended' aide who didn't know there was classified: source

Anita Dunn was behind the decision to keep the classified documents story from the press

Today the NY Times published its take on the behind-the-scenes decisions about this potential scandal. The Times points to another top Biden adviser as one of the few people who were in-the-know from the start: Crisis PR specialist Anita Dunn.

The handful of advisers who were aware of the initial discovery on Nov. 2 — six days before the midterm elections — gambled that without going public, they could convince the Justice Department that the matter was little more than a minor, good-faith mistake, unlike former President Donald J. Trump’s hoarding of documents at his Florida estate…
The discussions on how to deal with the matter, at least at the start, were confined to the husband-and-wife pair of Bob Bauer, the president’s top personal attorney, and Anita Dunn, a White House senior adviser; Mike Donilon, the president’s longtime confidant and speechwriter; Mr. Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens; Stuart F. Delery, the White House counsel; and Richard Sauber, a White House lawyer overseeing the response to investigations, according to people familiar with the situation.

If you’re not familiar with Dunn, she was the person behind the war on Fox News during the Obama administration. She’s been in and out of the White House since the start of the Biden administration. She helped come up with the phrase “ultra MAGA” and I strongly suspect she’s the person behind Biden’s border strategy PR, i.e. refusing to admit there’s a crisis and always referring to the situation as a “challenge.”

The Times story suggests that the desire to keep the investigation in the documents quiet came from Biden’s lawyers who were afraid publicizing the situation would make it more likely a special counsel would be appointed. Normally the advice of the lawyers would be at odds with the advice of the communications staff who genuinely think it’s better to get out ahead of scandals, but not in this case.

Once the discovery of the original batch of documents was revealed, Ms. Dunn was adamant that the White House should keep the public information flow to a trickle and focus instead on how different Mr. Biden’s case was from the broader investigation into his predecessor, according to people familiar with the discussions.
Ms. Dunn also stressed the need to underscore the differences between Mr. Biden’s cooperation with the archives and Justice Department and Mr. Trump’s defiance…
In announcing Mr. Hur’s selection, Mr. Garland, who seldom discusses prosecutorial moves not previously disclosed in court filings, offered his own detailed timeline of the department’s involvement in the case, revealing for the first time that the second batch of classified material had been discovered by Mr. Biden’s team on Dec. 20, weeks after the first.
That left the Justice Department in the position of appearing more transparent about the matter than the White House. For the president’s team, that brought immediate blowback as reporters pressed for more answers and Republicans accused the White House of a cover-up.

Why wouldn't the Biden team think they could keep the story quiet?
The DOJ has done everything they were asked to do by Biden. They raided Trump's home. Something that has never been done before. They have kept prisoner in DC jail for 2 years illegally. They have allowed the invasion of illegals
Why shouldn't Biden's team expect them to fold over the Classified documents.
What made the lawyer's start looking for these documents to begin with?
Did they fall over them, did someone call them and point them out laying around?

IMO There is something going on here that is not being said. Have the Democrats or whoever is running this country decided to get rid of Joe and Jill?

CBS had the story and sat on it. How did they find out. Was it another of Hunter's associates trying to avoid a criminal investigation that tipped off CBS.

“The decision … to keep the discovery of classified documents secret from the public and even most of the White House staff for 68 days was driven by what turned out to be a futile hope that the incident could be quietly disposed of without broader implications for Mr. Biden or his presidency,” the NYT reported.

After lawyers conducted additional searches, more troves of documents were found on Dec. 20, Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 at Biden’s Delaware home.

The Times said that Biden’s team tried to defend not only the discovery of the documents, but their attempt to cover it up by arguing that finding classified documents after a Vice President or President leaves office is not an unusual event. Additionally, they argued that making the discovery public would only draw unwanted and unnecessary attention.

According to the NYT, Biden’s advisors reportedly knew about the classified documents six days ahead of the midterm elections. However, they decided to “gamble” on keeping the revelations hidden until the new year.

The Biden Administration reportedly hoped that the DOJ would find the incident as “little more than a minor, good-faith mistake.”

Once the discovery was made public, Biden’s team made it seem that they were fully cooperating by handing over the documents as soon as they were found.

However, the NYT reported that that “bet seems to have backfired.”

The NYT said that this event has “cemented the impression that Mr. Biden had not been forthcoming.”

Has Biden Been Hoarding Classified Docs for Decades?

Joe Biden served in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009, and until we get further information, we don’t know how old the documents are. This means that he’s had classified documents in his possession for as little as six years, or as long as fifty years.

The Justice Department is now considering expanding its search to more locations linked to Joe Biden. Just what will they find, and where?

And what has Joe Biden been doing with these classified documents all these years?

Why hasn't anyone noticed?

Bill Maher Slams ‘Shady’ Joe Biden Over Classified Documents Scandal

“This documents thing — now look, was Biden shady with the documents? Absolutely,” Maher said. “The fact that they found them before the midterm elections and they didn’t talk about it… ”

“Two months,” one of Maher’s guests interjected.

“Two months — OK, very shady,” Maher continued. “I call shady on both sides. Now, of course, it was very different. When Trump got caught with documents, he said, ‘I’m not gonna turn them over.’ He didn’t cooperate. Biden cooperated. But the fact that Hunter Biden was in the house was all a conspiracy theorist needs to know.”

Exasperated over this whole news story. NOTHING will come of it. The press, the WH, the DOJ, they will all claim nothing wrong ever happened, move on, no biggie, all the while losing their chit over Mar-A-Lago, and expect us all to take them seriously.

He's not going to resign, he's not going to be ASKED to resign, he's not going to be impeached or 25th Amendmented - as he said, he has no regrets, firmly believed nothing wrong happened and if anyone gets the ax, it will be some staffer.

I truly wonder if Watergate and the subsequent cover-up happened today, if the news would even COVER it. Nixon weaponized the entire government and threatened people in a manner no one thought was possible. It's routine nowadays.

*Biden* didn't "cooperate". He wasn't even involved. Story is more along the line of - someone discovered them, turned them over to Archives and the news more or less snowballed from there.

Trump's rationale was and is - no, they're mine and I have a legal right to them - I do not have to give you even one of them no matter how much you stomp your feet. Biden's reaction was a great big "huh?".
