We've welcomed Hemi into our family since we've moved here to MD, so he didn't make the move from California. I confirmed his microchip info today--thank you for the thought!

Hey LabLuvr! On my FB page, I'm friends with Maryland Boxer Club. I was following links and came to a page for a lost Boxer. It was titled, Missing Boxer in Chicago. They did get their dog back. I was thinking maybe you could do a FB page for Hemi...couldn't hurt. :yay:

call the shelter everyday..they sometimes "forget" about missing pets.My parents GSD wandered off their 7 acres and someone took her in for a week and then decided they did not want her and took her to the shelter...but we got her back !! good luck

We think Hemi has been spotted in Leonardtown! Heading down there now--and looks like he may have made a friend. They've been circling the area for nearly a week--fingers crossed it's him!!!

The two GSD belonged to a horse farm about a mile from the community. We ventured to the horse farm through the woods and saw the two romping around together. The one female looked EXACTLY like Hemi--you know, minus the female part!

Then we got another tip that Hemi has been seen running down Rte 236 THIS EVENING around 8pm. A local neighbor named Jessica went out canvassing the area, and was told that Hemi has been spotted there the past 2 nights as well (although the source is kinda unreliable). However, she said she saw him herself this evening. It is SO dark out tonight (no moon) and with all of the Amish farms on 236 there is little ambient light so we searched for about an hour, then decided to come home---that road is just too dark to creep along at night. If you live in this area, please please please keep your eye out!!! Thank you :)

Also, in other sad news--on our way back from Leonardtown today, I saw a boxer that had been hit, and deceased on the side of the road--about 4 miles south of the 5/235 split on Rte5. Boxer was a rust/brown color. I tried to stop and turn around to check for tags, but rush hour traffic was zooming by and I had my 9 month old child in the car. Please spread the word. Thx.

There should be a phone booth on route 236 that a lot of the Amish use. You should put a poster about the missing dog in that booth.

That is a GREAT idea--thank you!! I will look for it tomorrow!! :)

There's probably more than one booth, so if possible ask the Amish the location of the rest.

They use them for emergencies, and to run their underground transportation network of unofficial, hired drivers, that make a living hauling them around locally and out of state.

I have a connection at Quality Built Homes and they are spreading the word throughout the construction sites over that way!
