AND, there are lots of different kinds of BBQ, and lot's of different tastes. Like the southern vinegar BBQ. What the hell is that all about?

Its called North Carolina BBQ, the one I dont get is the one that puts cole slaw on top of the bbq.

I do get the cole slaw thing, oddly enough. I've been known to put it on anything that has BBQ sauce. Maybe it's because I'm not a BBQ sauce fan  I also like a slaw dog, and sometimes I put it on my burger, or mix it with baked beans.

Which ones? I'm all about helping local people so if you can back up your claim I'd like to know. I've never heard of a restaurant other than a chain having a spirit night.

Bann said "local entrepreneurs" which, IMHO, does not mean just restaurants. Many local businesses are generous to a variety of causes. Some announce it- many don't.

From my own personal experience, I know that Vera's, Calypso Bay, the Grill Sgt on Solomons and the Tiki Bar have held many fundraisers for a number of events and some have donated part of the profits to said groups.
The Roy Rogers on Solomons has fundraisers for OLSS (though I don't know how large of a chain it is-or if it is locally owned- I had never seen one before moving here)

I think Mission BBQ is a great marketing idea. I also think the owners and investors will do well with their investment.

You WILL assimilate. You WILL eat at Mission BBQ. I'm seeing the Apple MacIntosh commercial in my head.... We are one people, with one will, one resolve, one cause. We SHALL prevail!

I don't see it as assimilation. I see it as freedom of choice... and I can't determine if I like the joint until I try it myself...:patriot:

Rest assured, if you do like it's because it taste's like dog droppings and you're gonna' gobble it up and insist it was fine dining

I should have noted that I was referring to her comment about Spirit nights. I don't know of any businesses that aren't a chain who have spirit nights. Do you? Which ones was Bann talking about?

I don't know what the deal with Lenny's is but it has never been good when I've gone and I know people that can't get enough of the place.

I could almost swear when I ate there that they went across the street to outback and got my food....
