Moles Removal

I've tried everything from poison to traps. Nothing works in removing these pesky moles from my yard. Does anyone know who I could hire to come out and exterminate them? Waldorf/la plata area.

Don't waste your $$ on killing the moles.
To get rid of the moles, you need to get rid of the grubs they are eating. GrubX (I think it's called) is a fertilizer by Scotts that has a grub klilling agent in it. You can also get Milky Spore (maybe at Lowes, but def. @ Southern States) and puut that in your yard and that will kill them. Either option will take some time. Don't expect to see a drastic reduction this year, think long term. Will probably take a year or 2 to get rid of the grubs and thus the moles.
Once you get rid of the grubs, you will also see fewer Jap. Beetles since that is what they grow into.

Get a dog... and then a shovel to fill in the holes.

I used a grub killer two summers ago and they left and haven't come back yet.

I used grubx, milky spores, and even nematodes to get rid of grubs a year or two ago. I know that milky spores won't work right away but the yearly grubx should have done something. I'm running out of options at this point.

Gasoline down the holes, light a match :yay:

Get a gerbil water bottle from a pet store
Add anti-freeze and place into a hole in the mole run.
Cover with a bucket to keep other animals away

I have a cat that kills those things left and right. He left one to rot and fester in our garage a few weeks back. I had to get a shovel to remove it and it kept sliding away from the shovel. So, I got the rake and pushed it on the shovel and punctured the rotting corpse and stuff came oozing out. It was really gross. I was gagging the entire time.

I found out on Saturday that our Malamute kills them too. She is known to kill possums but this is the first mole she got (that I know of). She was just playing with it until she realized that I was trying to get it away from her. As I was walking up to her, she dropped it and it tried to escape. She scooped it back up and must have chomped down on it. By the time I finally got it away from her, it had barfed up it's insides. :dead:

Where do you live?? I'd be willing to rent her out.......... for a small fee of course.

I'm in Mechanicsville; And I would be willing to pay a fee if she'd kill off my squirrels....

I have zero moles and I guarantee if they could get a hold of the squirrels, I'd be squirrel free. I cannot say they don't try! :yay:

Never seen her catch a squirrel. I'm sure if one was stupid enough to go in "her" backyard, the chase would be on. We have a fence so if it could squeeze through or hop over, that would be the only escape. Her prime targets in the past have been baby possums. She must have found a nest of them because she killed atleast one a day for about a week.
