Del. Michael L. Vaughn, a Prince George's County Democrat who was a member of the conference committee, said lawmakers agreed against allowing any establishment to be exempt so that no "one will have any type of advantage over another."

"You have some jurisdictions where you have full-fledged bars within 30 yards from where you have a private club," he said. "You have the opportunity to have a financial advantage over a bar, if you are a private club. We did this so there would be no possibility for financial advantage."

So, what's gonna happen to me if I light up anyway? Will the Smoking Police come busting through the door and arrest me? So, the bar owner may tell me to put it out or get out... but what if the bar owner doesn't care cause he thinks this ban is stupid? What happens to them? Fines? What if they are willing to pay the fines -- then what does the state do to them? Is it like a liquor license? They'll shut them down....???

I'm speculate there'll be citations/fines first then revocation of liquor/business licenses. :shrug:

I think they might fine the business which would force business owners to "enforce" the law.

I believe they fine the business (owner's) huge fines (thousand of dollars) and then they will revoke their license I beleive.

Anywhere that the business owner allows is smoking is delegated as a smoking establishment.
