More about the MD smoking ban

New york city has already started telling you what you can eat. They have passed a ban on trans-fats. Restaurants will be barred from using most frying oils containing artificial trans fats by July and will have to eliminate the artificial trans fats from all of their foods by July 2008.

Sweet! Now I can go to a bar and come home not smelling like smoke nor have inhaled a carton of cigarettes... :high5:

But you can still down a gallon of Jack Daniels and then drive home.

Congratulations.

Anywhere that the business owner allows is smoking is delegated as a smoking establishment.

Genius.

Well i guess they're not so designated/delegated as smoking establishments anymore...

:nono: Not legally.

Actually, I'd like to see someone down a gallon and sit up on their own. :lmao:

I'm speechless.

Speechless is what caused this. All the lazy smokers sittin on their azzes puffin away doing nothing untill it's too late. Now they want to stand up and cry boo hoo.

How many of you called or wrote a politician when all this was going on?

True.

But if you choose to do so, you don't have a bunch of self-appointed do-gooders in your grill.

You quietly go to your car in peace...

...and then careen into a minivan full of kids.

I hear ya!!! I was in California when the proposed a ban on smoking in bars and restraunts...I used to be opposed to the ban thinking drinking and smoking went hand in hand. BUT after a couple of trips to the clubs and not having that heavily smoke infested feeling the next morning, and realizing it really didn't have too much of a negative effect on smokers (they now went to outdoor areas to smoke) it was great! And, it didn't affect the business owners after the initial adjustment (which was short lived!). I look forward to going out again, now that I can go without coming back smelling and feeling like an ashtray! :larry:

The fact of the matter is, you've ALWAYS had that option.

All you had to do was patronize the Non-Smoking establishments.

Uh...hadn't found many of those in St Marys...Dont think I have even found 1! You can't even sit in Damons, Lonestar, Outback, or Cheeseburger in Paradise for a nice dinner with your kids without smelling smoke that has gone wayward out of its section.

You're not looking. I can't tell you how many times I have personally posted lists of non smoking restaurants on the forums.

And there are no "NON-Smoking" restaurants in ST. Marys?

Strange... I've been in a few.
