That word was culturally appropriated by people that constantly beotch about cultural appropriation.
It was a demeaning word even when it was appropriated and it hasn't gotten better.
I don't hear blacks complaining about cultural appropriation nearly as much as I hear white libs complaining about it. I think that the blacks really like the fact that whites are emulating their culture, it kind of excuses some bad behavior. It also added a lot of big white women to their dating pool.
There are Negro's, black people, People of Color, and that word. We all know the difference, but we cannot us that word.
But They can use it.
You can use the word all you want it's a free country, but like anything else with the first amendment actions have consequences. I just find the word itself demeaning and somewhat telling about the person using it.

I believe the person using it means it to be demeaning. A bit like blacks when they call whites Mother F**kers.
