More on that Birth Certificate thing...

I don't recall any nutjobs posting that Bush perpretrated 911, or caused Katrina, or similar nonsense in *this* forum (except for the "Bush lied" stuff - for which there is pretty good circumstantial evidence, but that's an issue for a different thread...)

But on the other hand, there appears to be plenty of nutjobs in these forums willing to post and accept similar nonsense as the truth - provided that it plays to their own partisan prejudices.

This website is not the only website on the face of the earth. Try googling "911 Conspiracy Theories". There are tons of crackpots out there.

And try this article where RFK Jr blames Bush. Haley Barbour and "their cronies" for Katrina.

This only touches the tip of the wachos out there.

Like I said before it will all be made to go away, Obama will forever be the illigitimate President.

And there you have it: the "X-files argument" to perpetuate the fantasy... "It's all true, but it's been covered-up because the truth is too explosive for the public to know".

And there are aliens in a freezer somewhere in Area 51. It's all true but it's too explosive for the public to know. Yeesh.

Then go to those crackpot websites and post your crackpot theories where they belong.

Vrai... when did you hire a new forum nanny?

Oyst... please provide us with your list of acceptable websites we are allowed to post from.

Oh, and BTW... if I want to be a crackpot it's my right to do so. :yahoo:

Just for clarification, the 20th amendment changed some of what was put in place by the 12th amendment.

Section 1. The terms of the President and Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of January, and the terms of Senators and Representatives at noon on the 3d day of January, of the years in which such terms would have ended if this article had not been ratified; and the terms of their successors shall then begin.

Section 3. ... If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified; ...

In other words, IF Obama was found not to be eligible to the Presidency, Biden would become president on January 20th.
Thank you, missed that.

There does appear to be a petition before SCOTUS; however, that docket record does not indicate that any member of SCOTUS has directed Obama to provide a Birth Certificate by December 1, 2008. That was just speculation written in 'The Valley Truth' article.

What that docket record indicates is that anyone who wishes to file a response to the petition (e.g. a cross-petition or an opposition to the petition) has 30 days to do so. This is standard operating procedure for SCOTUS. No one is required to file a response, but if they want to they have 30 days (except in cases when a response is filed in support of the petition, in which case the time limit is usually 20 days). It looks like SCOTUS has taken no action on this petition except to place it on the docket, as would be SOP. They did deny the application for injunction that accompanied the petition, which makes sense, since time would have been of the essence for that.

I have no opinion on the merits of this issue in general, just clarifying what something means.

:yay: Exactly. He has the opportunity to file a response to the petition for the Writ. If he really didn't have anything to hide, it would seem he would just produce the stupid BC

Okay Bann, get with the program... Oystie and Kerad have stated this is all a lie (their normal response to everything). You can't trust blog sites (unless they are used to accuse a right-winger of something) and the USSC site doesn't specifically say it's about BO's BC, so therefore it's a lie.

STOP YOUR WHINING! :smack:

R.I.P. Bobo, We miss you!
I find it pathetic that people who are assumed to be adults could generate more than 21 pages expressing their childish and unsubstantiated fear of 1 black man.

Yes, I'm a white Republican, and you people are pathetic. To the absolute extreme.

If you need to hate or fear somebody, start with yourselves. You will do more damage to this country than a black President.

I find you just as pa the tic needing to post on this thread. Who cares what color Obama is, this is not a racial concern/fear. I don't even care if you are a white Republican or why you feel the need to even mention that.:smack:

I believe you're the one(s) in denial.

Everybody in America (with the exception of some fringe, right-wing conspiracy nutjobs) seems to be just fine with Obama's citizenship.

Just to make sure I wasn't providing any unintentional "wrong" statements about Certificates of Birth, I looked for my few bc's to see if I remembered correctly. I found a Certificate of Birth from the PA Health Dept./Vital statistics documenting my birth post birth date stamp. Information with it made it clear that it was not proof of American citizenship. I also went through numerous Passports, some stamped from Honolulu HI when we traveled there on our way to where we were moving, they did have stamped in there our birth information and citizen status. Where is the BC long form and if he doesn't have it. What about previous passports used, he would have needed them traveling with his mother, they would have provided citizen status for him at that time. Also, if he was born abroad and spent several years as a citizen of a foreign country, being as he had only one US citizen parent..that could also bring into question his US natural born citizenship status. Now Oysterman, this didn't come from any blog...

If there was no substance to the allegations the SCOTUS would not have given BO a deadline to produce his BC.
The SCOTUS has not given a dealine for the President-elect to produce a BC. The deadline is to submit a response to the Writ of Certiorari, after which, Berg will have to respond. At that point, the SCOTUS will decide to review the lower court's ruling or not.
