The way I understand it is filing for a Writ of Certiorari is asking the SCOTUS to basically hear a case that was turned down in a lower court. From reading all the way through those blog entries, it looks like the court has notified Obama to answer to the petition of the Writ. And the blogger surmises Obama would answer by providing a copy of the BC since that would stop all further inquiries. But the SCOTUS doesn't even have to grant the Writ.



Definition: Certiorari, Petition for Writ of Certiorari.

Heck I can barely pronounce Certiorari. My question is… if BO doesn’t answer to this demand isn’t he in contempt of court? In all other cases that is a jailable offense. Besides that, wouldn’t the USSC interpret a non-reply as non-proof of citizenship by default? I just don’t see the USSC pursuing this for fear of the repercussions.

I can't think of any rational explanation for it. The whole thing: his BC, his near-perfect campaign, his messiah-like persona, and election is all too surreal... I can't wrap my mind around it. It feels too cultish to me. An entire country has bought into it. And now this... he may not be a born citizen which could disqualify him. How impossible can you get? Something so simple as a BC would take this man down; when nothing else: his radical connections, his socialistics ideals, etc... and a simple lack of a BC takes him down? How in the world did he get this far?

I believe the Supremes will have something to say about it. If not, the Senate (the current Senate with Stevens as a pissed off felon, Lieberman as a swing vote independent and Cheney as presiding officer) will have to make a call.
