On April 15th, I will be in the class from 1:30 - 6:30, learning to ride....It also is on the 16th, which is Easter. Hope that CSM hasn't made a mistake in scheduling for that day......

Helmet, one of those do-rag things cause the helmet makes my head itch, gloves, leather coat.

Oh, boots. I have boots. Two good pairs of riding boots. I'm not ever, ever, ever, going to ride in the rain......Leather pants I will consider.

what if you get caught in the rain on a summer afternoon ride?

jeans wont hold up for 5 seconds sliding down the road. i highly recommend leather pants. chaps at a minimum

Got it. I prefer the leather pants. I am hoping that if it starts raining, I can pull over and hide. I don't forsee looooong rides in my future for a loooonng time to come. I actually prefer the back of hubby's bike, but really want to learn how to ride my own, not that I'll ever take it out in traffic.

2 minutes in a good rain at 55mph will have you soaked from head to toe.

i used to ride in the rain on purpose in the summer in florida cause it was so stinking hot...

Who said anything about 55mph???? My top speed so far is 25........We'll see about it after the course. I think my little Rebel will be stretching to get up to 55.

Nah I had a KLR250 dual sport for my first bike and it maxed out at 70mph.

Actually, I looked at the calendar and mid-May is actually a good timeframe for me. My grad school class ends in early May. Spending two evenings and a weekend doing the motorcycle class during the grad school class is probably not a good idea.

I haven't called about the Pax classes yet. They said to call back in March when I talked to them in October. Anyway, I think that the CSM class counts for Pax as well as the license test, but the Pax class only counts for Pax. I might do the Pax course as well...just 'cause it's FREE!!!!
