From what I've heard from people who served with him, and one US Senator who repeated that same information.
His "highly respected" came from his civilian masters in the Obama administration, not the military.
So I don't think he will be the CO, just cold.

‘CHOW THIEF’: Two Medal Of Honor Recipients Sound Off On Alexander Vindman

Petry defended President Donald Trump’s actions and laid into Vindman for putting himself before those he was fighting alongside, calling the impeachment witness a likely “chow thief” and a “spotlighter.”

“I respect Donald Trump’s actions on escorting [Vindman] out of the White House, because he, as a team player, he should have brought it up through the chain of command, and then blown the whistle if it didn’t get approved,” Perry told “Fox & Friends” on Sunday.

“I respect his service and I understand he’s a Purple Heart recipient, but being a Purple Heart recipient doesn’t make somebody a hero,” he noted.

Petry continued regarding Vindman, claiming he was dubbed a “chow thief” back at Ranger School and heard he “couldn’t be trusted.”

When you try to get rid of head lice you have to kill the nits.
You have to get rid of all of them.
Every last one.

Well finally Trump is cleaning house of the obama shiit.

"The system" has been in self protection mode. The intelligence community was slow in processing clearances which forced the incoming Trump administration to retain staff from the Obama White House.

The entire senior level of the civil service or foreign service should take a lesson from GENERAL James Maddis.
When he reached a point where he had a difference of opinion on policy with the president he stepped aside to allow the president to replace him with someone who was more on the same page. He didn't trash the president's policy or the man. He has remained silent, kept confidential any details. Gen Maddis's stance was and is the president deserves his own people to support him. You are there to support, and execute the orders of the commander in chief.

Bumping a very old thread.... :roflmao: (Hard to believe, but this thread was started less than 5 months ago and the last reply was LESS than 2 months ago!)

I'm watching Neil Cavuto's show on Fox News as I type this and he's interviewing USAF General O'Shaughnessy (the NORTHCOM commander) about the USNS Comfort.

Neil asked a question along the lines of, "So what do you think of that, commander?" Clearly, for a moment Cavuto mixed up O'Shaughnessy's job title with his rank.

Any guess how the general responded? Did he

- a) correct Cavuto before answering the question by saying, "Neil, that's General O'Shaughnessy" or

- b) just answer the question?

If you guessed b), then clearly you understand why Vindman was an ass. If you guessed a), then we know Vindman has company.

That is all.

My career field was structured like the military. On most police departments, the rank colonel is the Chief. I didn’t make it up, it was there.
Well, a short man, with an attitude, make that insane narcissism was a major with department A. Turmoil struck department B and the chief of B was dismissed. A WORDWIDE search for the new chief was launched!! Within about 10 minutes, “shorty “ was installed as chief of B.
His first mission??? Made himself a 4 star General!!!
Well, “shorty” lasted about 5 months as supreme generalissimo but was dismissed. He went to lead the surge in a close city!!! Freddy Gray died in that busy metropolis, you may have heard about it.
Well, shorty is now a stock clerk at some fashionable grocery store in upscale Crofton!
General ended up the general of canned goods.

Transcript Shows Vindman, Schiff Repeatedly Obstructed Questions About Classified Leaks

As Sean Davis points out, Vindman’s attorney was clearly trying to stop him from answering two key questions:

  1. Did Vindman deliberately work to undermine President Trump’s foreign policy?
  2. Did Vindman have any conversations about Trump’s classified phone call outside the chain of command?
Swalwell, Schiff, and Vindman’s attorney disrupted the witnesses’ testimony time and time again. What in the world does Vindman have to hide? Republicans and the American people still do not have answers to these important questions.

If Vindman were working to undermine Trump’s foreign policy, it only adds to the growing pile of evidence that this impeachment inquiry is a hoax designed by people who are unhappy with the results of the 2016 election.

Duckworth vows to block over 1,000 military confirmations until Pentagon proves Vindman will be promoted

Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., on Thursday announced her intention to block Senate confirmations for 1,123 senior U.S. Armed Forces promotions until Defense Secretary Mark Esper confirms he will not block the "expected and deserved" promotion of Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.

Vindman, an Iraq War veteran, served on the White House National Security Council and was thrust into the limelight last year when he testified about President Trump's July 2019 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that became the heart of a Democratic-led impeachment inquiry.

Vindman said he listened to the call and voiced concerns that Trump allegedly tried to pressure Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who served on the board of one of Ukraine's largest natural gas companies.

He's a jerk and missed an easy solution. He could address the panel as Mr or Ms. Then the title entitlement issue would be back on them if they object. After they complained about not be addressed as "representative" he could state he believed titles were being dispensed with based upon how they addressed him.
