I'm devasted but my hubby is even worse. I can tell you we haven't slept against each other in 5 years because there is always a warm body wedged right in between us with his head on one of our pillows. I miss him when we travel.

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts. We are waiting for the oncologist to call now to see what tests we need to set up so we can be ready when the meds arrive.

Your going to make me cry....ours does the same thing at night. He has his own pillows on the bed but still prefers our pillows. He also will put his head on my knees.

I hear ya. When he's cold he snuggles with him when he's hot he snuggles with me. Don't cry every day we have with him now is a blessing!

Today we get the "trial" cancer medication, Palladia. Below are a couple of pictures of his tumor and the enlarged lymph node. We are hoping for a miracle. He doesn't have much time (but he's had more than I expected). Please keep my boy in your thoughts.

Day 2

First dose done. We medicate every other day and then he gets to spend the day at the oncologist next Thursday. If all goes well and he's responding he gets another weeks worth of meds. He ate good and slept good last night (totally hogged the bed). He's sleeping in my office right now. One day at a time now! Thanks to all for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. It keeps me going!

Please keep him in your prayers. He's a 5 year old male boxer with Mast Cell Tumor Type III and it is very aggressive. The tumor is on his face and it has spread to his lymph node. Although we could do chemo and/or radiation the rate of the tumor growth and the fact that it has already spread to his lymph node there would be no cure only prolonging the inevitable. Right now he is happy and otherwise "health". Our goal is to keep him that way and when the time comes... it comes...
This is such a horrible disease.....

Prayers said for y'all and lots of hugs sent your way.

Cat, oncologist says to hold off changing his diet until we see how he responds to the meds. Some dogs just quit eating entirely on the medication. I have some Primal raw samples and I've been trying to supplement with those. Right now he's not very interested but we'll keep trying.

Jazz Lady, I am very sorry for your loss. I hope you have good memories to comfort you.

Thank you, Independence. I have some wonderful memories of my Nana girl from the 12 years I was lucky enough to have her, although I still miss her terribly every day and still haven't gotten used to the empty space beside my bed.

What a beautiful baby your boxer is and I hope the treatments work. Many prayers coming your way. :huggy:

Sorry I attached the same picture twice so I fixed it ;)

We made it through the first week of treament. Indy's at the doc now getting his tests to make sure he's still functioning good. It looks to me like the tumor has gone down some. If all goes well today he gets round 2 of meds for another week. Still taking it day by day. From what I've been reading the side effects start to show up in the 2nd and 3rd week.

Here's a couple of pics from Day 7
