Okay, coming from a new rider (only in second season), You need to LEARN that bike, you should know everything there is to know. You shouldn't be getting on and riding if your not sure your safety equipment is operating properly. YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT! Also, I hate to bash your comment about *falling* DONT assume you are going to fall or you will!!!! Keep in mind you are doing a very dangerous activity, and with that comes risks. It is your JOB TO NOT fall! So, the potential is there, but don't tell yourself that your going to fall, OR YOU WILL! I worked everyday alone in parking lots and when my Hubby was available we went for early morning rides and let the traffic build around us, my comfort level stayed high, and I have the confidance to tell myself, that I'm not going down unless a whole lot of stuff goes wrong. I set out to learn the things about riding that are the most dangerous.....handling the bike on GRAVEL sucks, but I forced myself to do it. I practiced and practiced my emergancy stop until its second nature! I can stop in no-time at all! I learned my bikes limits which allows me to stand on my brakes(BOTH OF THEM) and the bike stays strait, steady and does not skid! Another pet peeve of mine is everyone automatically wants to know when I'm getting a bigger bike( I ride a 250 Ninja) WHY do I want to move to a bigger bike when I have a flippin blast on my bike and can practically toss it around like a bicycle??? Don't let peer pressure put you on the seat of something thats gonna get you killled. YOU decide when you want or need a larger bike~ My ultimate goal is to ride my Hubbys 94 Yamaha V~Max, that has a stage 7 jet kit.............Major power there, and he offers it daily, and I know I can probably handle it.............BUT CAN I DO SO SAFELY?????? NO! So, I guess all I'm saying is keep practicing, learn your bike and ride long and safe!!!
