LOL, well day two went better then day one. Looked at houses in St Mary's. One in Greenview West subdivision looked really nice, but went under contract that afternoon. The yard was somewhat small and I have a dog that needs some room to roam. The rest were nice, but not for me.

I need a big family room or basement to fit my couch and TV in. The house in Greenview had a nice basement. I had never seen a basement that had insulation like that but then it made sense. It seems a lot of houses are built with the majority of the basements above ground.

Do a lot of basements have flooding or dampness issues? Couple weeks I will be there for a week straight so I should have more time to find a house.
You want BIG yards, go South.. we have two for sale in our neighborhood and smallest lots are 1.5 acres.. lots of horses in our neighborhood too!

What area South? I found a house last night but man its up there in price. Anyone know the area of 237 and Norris Rd? It sits just North of Chancellors Run Park and East of At Marys River State Park.

Edit: Found it is in the Meadow Lake subdivision.

Hi Welcome to the area

I live in Drum Point in Calvert County. I don't know how you can go about doing this but I'm sure someone here might. Alot of folks over here rent houses, rooms, basements, etc. to people coming in for the outage at Calvert Cliffs. You might find something there in your price range. I know kids are renting basements for about $900.00 month and they are nice homes. I'm sure there is a list somewhere with tenants on this...glad to see you saw my post about foreclosures. Good luck.

Stay away from Calvert County, It's the worst place to live in Southern Maryland.

Why do you consider Calvert County to be a bad place to live? Other than not having trash pick up or any good chinese restaurants, it's not so bad. There's no better place to hunt for shark's teeth and then there's the TiKi Bar in Solomons. BTW, when does it open this year?

I was only joking. Did you read between the ": :"?
I love Calvert County. I was born here and will never live anywhere else. What a great place, water within a few miles in any direction. The ocean and mountains a few hours away.

Cool, I have been reading the classifieds here on this site. They have a few. One under the bridge in California and one in Lusby.

We just rented a home in lusby! So yes I'm officially a Lusbian! :lmao: But we have been looking for a while now and have found that Calvert county has some really nice homes not to mention BIG Yards! And if you have kids in school they have some of the best schools. But just my opinion. I did a lot of research and that's why we chose Calvert county.
