DUCK!

North Korea has test-launched a missile.

Thats just sad :frown: I've been saying forthe past few months on here that Korea DOES have the capability for a nuclear bomb (not just for providing nuclear energy to the homes and business, etc.. but a program for weapons or destruction) and that a crazy person is in charge. Along these lines, sadly, I think Korea and their ever growing nukes will be an election topic for the presidential elections in 2008. :frown:

I guess that eliminates the Democratic candidate unless it is Lieberman.

I still think we should have blown them up on the launch pad.........

That would make them seem like they were a threat. This makes people laugh at them. :yay:

Might I ask what, aside from the rantings of the North Korean crazies and people who know nothing about nuclear weapons, leads you to believe that North Korea DOES have a nuclear capability? Are you one of the US crazies who thinks that The Manhattan Project is a realistic movie? That anyone with access to plutonium and uranium can actually make a nuclear weapon? The North Koreans have never offered anything but BS as evidence of their alledged nuclear capability.

If it were as easy to make a nuclear bomb as most people like you think it is, every country would be a nuclear power. While the concept and physics behind a nuclear detonation are fairly simple, the achievement of those concepts and physics is extrordinarily difficult. If a country as advanced as Canada can't develop a nuclear weapon after decades of trying through rook or crook, I doubt North Korea is going to do it.

Wouldn't that be great, would really piss off the arabs and be proof that the US is controlled by Jews.

It just never fails to amaze me how some people want to get all spun up over some butthead's claims of power. They just don't understand why the Bush Administration isn't cowering in the White House over the "North Korean Threat". Maybe it's because people who are a whole lot more knowledgeable about the threat potential of North Korea are calling the shots rather than the folks who use Mr. Chicken Little as a national security expert.

Where did I state ANYWHERE that it was easy to make a nuclear bomb? And no, I don't think the Manhattan Project was a movie -- what looney would even suggest it, let alone post about it as you had? The thought honestly never crossed my mind as it has yours. Do you think it was a movie??
I stated that I do believe they have the capability to make nuclear weapons and has for a while. Personally, I think North Korea got most of what they need from Russia's time of instability and vulnerability. Maybe it was "missing brief cases" or something or perhaps that was just a movie  Or maybe and more least believable, I've been listening to high ranking republicans on this issue  I really don't think this is an issue to take lightly. :ohwell:

No... what you said was a definative statement that North Korea DOES have the capability to build a nuclear weapon, and I asked what makes you certain that they do. All they do have access to is a potential source of plutonium, which is a LONG ways from a nuclear weapons capability.

As for The Manhattan Project movie mania, try checking comments from just about every liberal commentator out there. You can find at least one quote where they reference that stupid-assed movie. Check news reports, especially when "everyone" was sure that every terrorist had imminent access to a backpack nuclear weapon and that "anyone" could build a nuclear weapon with plans they could download off the internet, and you'll see that movie referenced.

As for the Soviets/Russians, if you look at what they would sell/transfer to their "friends" you'll quickly see that they were very hedgy about who their "friends" were/are and weren't in any great rush to release technology that could someday be used against them. What North Korea knows about nuclear weapons didn't come from the Russians but from the Pakistanis, and their POCs in Pakistan were smart enough to give the North Koreans enough information to keep them interested and spending money, but not enough to put themselves out of a job.
