I like the responses.. Mebbe I shoulda made a poll.
When I got married I kept my maiden name as my middle name. I had no intentions of doing so but my grandfather and father made it a point to get me to keep my last name. They both wrote out hefty checks with that name on there. A few of the women in my family have done the same. I have since divorced and taken my birth name again. Should I ever decide to get married again I will just take his last name and keep my middle name. I love my middle name and hate my last name.
I changed my middle name to my maiden name, too. My mom did it as well and I thought it was a great idea.![]()
Right now I'm just happy to have my 4 letter last name back, although most people spell it wrong. My married name was horrendous. Nobody ever spelled it or pronounces it right. Damn Italian names!![]()
People really seem to have trouble with my married name.![]()
I kept my original name as I didn't feel it an important enough issue to change it. Besides, it is kinda quirky....like me.![]()
It would be nice if my ex-wife would lose my last name. It is embarrassing when she gets popped for DUI.

My maiden name is only three letters and works well as a first name, middle name or last name.
When I divorced, I did keep my married name, but that's only because of the kids. They did not want me to have a different last name then them. When my last daughter was born, it was hilarious to see her listed as baby girl ******* in the nursery. I wanted to send a pic to my ex and tell him congratulations!
