I like the responses.. Mebbe I shoulda made a poll.
When I got married I kept my maiden name as my middle name. I had no intentions of doing so but my grandfather and father made it a point to get me to keep my last name. They both wrote out hefty checks with that name on there. A few of the women in my family have done the same. I have since divorced and taken my birth name again. Should I ever decide to get married again I will just take his last name and keep my middle name. I love my middle name and hate my last name.
I changed my middle name to my maiden name, too. My mom did it as well and I thought it was a great idea.
Right now I'm just happy to have my 4 letter last name back, although most people spell it wrong. My married name was horrendous. Nobody ever spelled it or pronounces it right. Damn Italian names!
People really seem to have trouble with my married name.
I kept my original name as I didn't feel it an important enough issue to change it. Besides, it is kinda quirky....like me.
It would be nice if my ex-wife would lose my last name. It is embarrassing when she gets popped for DUI.

My maiden name is only three letters and works well as a first name, middle name or last name.
When I divorced, I did keep my married name, but that's only because of the kids. They did not want me to have a different last name then them. When my last daughter was born, it was hilarious to see her listed as baby girl ******* in the nursery. I wanted to send a pic to my ex and tell him congratulations!
