The Caution Clock for the truck series is a horrible idea! Just let 'em race!

http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-me...caution-clock-camping-world-truck-series.html

Everything Brian France has done since taking over has been a horrible idea. Chase, playoffs, points resets, double file restarts, caution clocks, now a Chase in XFINITY and Trucks, knockout qualifying instead of ####ing heat races... A bunch of gimmicks designed to patch up what the real problem is, which is that the racing sucks because the tracks suck. Man, I miss Dale Earnhardt.

Hopefully the new low downforce package will make the racing better. Kentucky and Darlington were great races last year - the only good races at tracks not called Martinsville Speedway.

The only good thing about last year was NBC Sports Network. Any time I can watch a race without hearing that loudmouth Darrell Waltrip or his fool younger brother is a good day.

I didn't make a New Year's resolution, but if I did it would probably be to take the wife and spend a few more Friday evenings at Potomac Speedway this year.

:yay:

Then, on Saturday evenings, you can head down to Dominion Raceway (just past Fredericksburg). That place is going to be nice.

South of Fredericksburg... that sounds closer for us than Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda. It looks pretty impressive on their website. Thanks for the heads-up.

That's what I'm here for. The NASCAR K&N Series races there on Memorial Day. Planning on going up there for that race as well as the opener on April 9th.

A night at the races is better than watching Cup. You get to be there and watch it in live action and the racing is usually better.

I probably won't watch too many Cup races this year. Franklin County Speedway (near Roanoke) is racing on Sundays now so I might head up that way several times. Plenty of Saturday night races where I'm at (Emerald Isle) between Carteret, East Carolina, Wake, Southern National, Dillon and Myrtle Beach.

I might go to Atlanta in February for the Cup race.

Any idea what ticket prices will be? I didn't see that info on the website. I also saw no coolers and outside alcohol allowed. That was a little of a bummer.

The 2:00PM start time listed... is that when the gates open or when racing starts?

Thank God for the CARS Tour starting their season on April 2nd, where they don't need playoffs, restrictior plates and caution clocks to produce quality racing.
