Are you rooting for Oklahoma because you think the AP might vote Texas #1 if Oklahoma wins the BCS?

I don’t realistically think Texas will get a shared title, but I can always dream cant I.. LOL I still think they should make Texas the Champs just because they are so cool.. :dye::dye:

Interesting how you switch from top 25 out of conference games for utah to qualify,
to bowl teams for fla which by the way lost to ole miss and how many of their schedule were out of conference games which they have control over unlike the conference games that they have no choice but to play? In addition Ou played some really tough games in their out of conference play right?

I was saying that Utah needs the out of conference games to match UF's in conference slate. It doesn't matter if the games are in the conference or out of the conference, as long as they have numerous quality games. I said Utah needs them OOC because they don't have a tough conference. UF not only had a tougher conference schedule, but their OOC schedule was tougher too since they played Hawaii, Miami, and Florida State. That beats Oregon State, Michigan, and two chumps.

Yeah, UF lost to Ole Miss. Ole Miss is a solid team that improved throughout the season and just stomped Texas Tech. It happens. Teams lose when they play good opponents each and every week. When you only have to come to play 4 or 5 times a year and can cruise the rest of the year, it's not nearly as difficult to get through the season unscathed. Even with the tougher schedule, UF did better on offense, defense, AND special teams in comparison with Utah. Go figure.

OU played Cinci and TCU out of conference. I don't remember their other two games. Cinci played in the Orange Bowl and won the Big East. TCU was runner up in the Mountain West and got stomped by OU (whereas Utah barely won and was actually outplayed).

I don't know why it is so hard for people to grasp that CFB is beginning to turn into a balanced field.....just like the NFL.

Sure the powerhouses will always be at or near the top...but programs around the country will be able to run with each other on any given Saturday, Thursday, Monday...whatever. Everyone got on the SEC bandwagon...they had an "off" year this year..whatever that means...the Big Ten has had two bad seasons....and suddenly they are a horrible conference despite their domination over the past...50 years? Give me a break...

If you are a FBS team..you should be able to play with any other team...technology, scouting, schemes, and other evolving things surrounding the game have made it so that Team A can beat Team B but get beat by Team C that was crushed by Team B....arguing over which is the better conference, or crying about who is getting screwed is a completely moot point as long as Big money (read BCS) controls the CFB Postseason...you want to make it fair? Let's get a playoff....and let's playgames in the north...in the midwest.....in cold climates in Dec/Jan...that will change things completely.

I'm not saying Utah isn't getting screwed...but it doesn't matter...I do however think you are freaking nuts or just don't understand anything about football if you think last nights game was mediocre....

I am a huge FSU fan but the Gators deserve this win Thursday. Tebow and the team have played excellent this year and they deserve it. I know one thing...I will be late to work Friday...Hopefully it will be a good game!

My point is that there are a top group of conferences for a reason. Almost all of the teams are more competitive, have more fans, and have more money. Until there is a playoff, you need to either be in a good conference or play a few good out of conference games. That's just the way it is. Until a team like Utah or Boise State plays 3 or 4 quality OOC games, on top of having at least 2-3 other quality conference teams, they won't have any chance at playing in the title game if it's not by playoff.

There are a few bowl games played in the north during the bowl season (one played in Idaho and another in Michigan that I can think of). I'm having a hard understanding how that makes things more fair, though. If anything, that gives an advantage to the northern teams. Dec/Jan is the best time of season to actually play games in southern areas, where it's not hot but not freezing. What fans actually want to travel to some desolate area and watch their team play outside when it's 10 degrees?

I've pretty much agreed with everything you have said..

up until this...of course it gives the Northern teams an advantage...it is common knowledge that a lot of teams (Big Ten) build their offense around a ground game because of the weather they play in during the season...so they have the mismatches they have had in the last few bowl seasons...

Alot of fans want to see this....you know, there are a whole lot of people who call that football weather...in the NFL that is what people live for..going through Pittsburgh or New England or Green Bay in the playoffs is what it is all about..... it is the reason that the Shoe or the Big House will be sold out and packed in below freezing weather everytime...why Lambeau is sold out in Jan...you get my point..

everything else I agree with...Big Schools are gonna get the Big Bowls...the reason Notre Dame only has to win 8-9 games to get a BCS bid...is it fair? no...it's about money...

Bring on the playoff!

wow..a home game...that was tough huh...

i said we've been down, you have been up...I admit that, but don't act like that is how it has always been! :yay:

We aren't scared...we went to USC, went to Texas, going to Miami we play a big OOC game every year when we scheduled Washington they were good...just like Utah this year, when they scheduled Michigan they didn't know they would blow..they thought that would be a huge test...

only the northern teams live for that kind of weather. the miami dolphins get burned by the cold every season! some like it, some don't. different areas of the country i guess. it's only a small portion of the season, so gearing your team around 2-3 games is sorta silly IMO

Home game? Might have been in Louisiana, but the crowd was split 50/50.

Hey!!! Every year, I say this is our year! And every year I am disapointed. But every fall I put on my garnet and gold and say it again.
One of these days, Bowden will retire and you'll have a chance again :buddies:
