I have had nothing but Subaru's and Toyota's that I drive since about 1986, had several Subaru's till 2005 then went to Toyota's since. Im on my second Highlander now. Ive been looking also for replacement for a Corolla and the Rav 4 and Subaru Forester are pretty much at the top of my list.

I went to a dealer last week and test drove a 2022 GMC with low miles on it. Maybe a little larger than what I need and the exterior was black. Not being racist but black cars are hard to keep looking clean...I passed.
Today (Sunday) seems like a perfect day to go kick some tires and maybe buy a vehicle and none of the dealers are open on Sundays! $hit!
Our contractor offered us $3000 for the Terrain and plans to replace the carpet and padding for his son for his graduation. Besides all of the tree pollen, my lungs hurt from inhaling mold. I don't really smell it but everyone near my car says it is strong. I wheeze constantly.
It doesn't help that our A/C unit $hit the bed and it may be two weeks before they can replace it. The hot nights have been brutal!

Aw, Thanks. I am a poor sleeper as it is but can sleep on the basement couch if it too hot upstairs.

After spending hours on the internet looking at specific local dealers' sites, I discovered that many of the vehicles they "offer" are not actually on their lot but someplace else. It was overwhelming but I got a good feel for what was out there: pricing, condition and mileage.
After seeing what was out there for sale, I went on sites looking at the dependability and ratings of certain vehicles and manufacturers (dur, should have done that first!!) and several of the vehicles I was interested in rated very poorly. Top was BMW and second was Subaru. I know many people that swear by Subaru and one friend that has a car with 350+ miles and is still running strong.
Anyhow, I sold my Terrain to someone for a gift to his son who has a Birthday soon and is graduating from HS and is going to the Police academy. He is having the old carpet and padding replaced. I am happy it is going to a good home and I know the parents appreciate my honesty and maintenance UTD on said vehicle.

Congrats! We are a long-time Subaru family, starting in 1997 with my first one. I recently sold a 2014 Subie, and still own my very much loved 2017. Loved my '78 Subaru BRAT, hated my '85 SL wagon. The wagon must have been a Friday afternoon special.
Like BG said, if you keep them maintained, they are very reliable. I watch a YT channel "I Do Cars", and he does forensics on blown up motors. Every Subaru he's done was a neglected motor.

I have always taken care of my vehicles and know how necessary oil changes and maintenance etc are to dependability and performance. I hope this car will outlast me
