Neibauer Dental Clinic

Lisa Tidewater is good. They have that long of a wait because they have a lot of patients. I go to dr.Luke he is in leonardtown and only does what needs to be done hes not a money hungry dentist and he does most of the cleanings himself if he doesn't have a hygenist in that day.

Thank you for the info :howdy: I don't mind the wait for a cleaning since my insurance only pays for 2 a year - but I have crappy teeth with enamel problems and it seems that I always have a cavity, need a root canal, etc. - despite taking good care of them. My husband barely brushes his teeth and has never had a cavity. :cds:

It's hard to wait for a few weeks though when you need a cavity filled and it's starting to get painful. I have to make spur of the moment appointments a lot unfortunately. But I'm at the point now where I'd much rather wait for a good dentist who actually takes care of you and isn't money hungry, then get in the same day with a dentist who can fix the tooth the same day, but does such a poor job that it has to be redone and is in constant pain that they tell you to take a tylenol for when they know darn well they really cut the gum up and screwed the tooth up :bigwhoop: I've had to get THREE teeth pulled that they messed up - the last being a failed root canal that they insisted could be done and yet I was still in a great deal of pain after they did the procedure and put a crown on it ($$$) - I finally went to an oral surgeon who took the crown off and did an x-ray. Turns out the tooth had a 4th root that they completely missed, and the tooth was cracked pretty badly at the gumline and wasn't saveable anyway. :jameo: Of course I tried to get some of my money back, over $2000 not counting what the insurance paid (and I had to pay the oral surgeon over $400 to 'fix' what they had done) - but they got really nasty and told me that I wouldn't get a dime back since they had technically done the procedure as it was outlined in the paperwork and that I 'knew I was taking that risk' when I agreed to have them do it.

Yeah I took a risk alright. Might as well have threw 2K in a slot machine and gambled it away. That would have been a lot more fun :coffee:

I'm kind of bitter so I'll back out of this thread now - but I urge people to really get a second opinion if they try to bleed you dry.

Ultimate fail on my part...

I would like to say that I have been going to Neibauer in Great Mills for a couple of months and have no complaints. I had a cleaning done and also quite a few crowns and a filling. I have my final appointment for my last permanent crowns the end of the month. I did have to end up paying about $7000.00 after my insurance paid its maximum amount. So everyone that goes there is not an unhappy camper.

No. But for the longest time I thought the commercial was saying "9 Hour Dental Care". :ohwell:

Haha, now I don't feel bad for thinking it said "9 Dollar dental care." I heard they're worse than a mechanic. Find a ton of things to charge you for...

Ha - $9 plus the thousands of other dollars they find to charge. It's a shame because even though the work isn't great, the dentists are both really nice - I've had a couple of arrogant dentists in my time too from moving around the country. The techs there are all friendly too - but the prices are just outrageous for the work that is done.

Next time I need a root canal I'll just go straight to Dr. Budd - she rocks! She's saved a few of my teeth that Neibauer messed up on - never had a minutes problem with the teeth after she is finished with them. And she charged me less for a complete root canal, even though she is a specialist, than Neibauer did... :cds:

Now I just need to find a good general dentist for cleanings and fillings. Or just suck it up and get implants since my teeth are crap, supposedly because I brush too hard... :bigwhoop: I guess I'd be better off not brushing them at all.

Does anybody know what happened to Dr. Gordon? I know he left town but I didn't know if it was on good or bad terms. He used to be in Pinefield several years ago.

I was very disappointed with Neibauer. I thought when I went there that I had finally found a quality dental office, however I soon discovered that the only thing they really care about is getting you to spend as much on your mouth as you possibly can! I needed some fillings done on my front teeth, but they were unwilling to just fill my cavities, until I could afford to have the crowns done. It was either all or nothing. The dentist told me that "it would not be her standard of care to just fill my cavities." So I ended up leaving because I didn't have the $7000 to put into my mouth at the time. I guess letting my teeth rot is their standard of care!

I use Ursic, Yazdan, Nguyen on H. G. Trueman. Yazdan is my main dentist, but if he is booked or out of town I have seen the other dentists and recommend their office for any dental work. They won't over charge you or charged for something they cannot do.. And no they do not cover all types of dental procedures but have recommended me to some of the best Doctors that could for the problems that we have had any where from impacted teeth to periodontal disease. 410-326-4078 Hope this helps.
