New addition

ETA 4+ wks; I've started preparing...I have a kiddies wading pool for a whelping box (hopefully she'll use it) and plenty of blankets, towels, etc...
She's eating good food and has gained a few pds.; each day she loosens up and plays w/the boy and the girls. She has such a sweet disposition.

My beautiful, majestic Dobie passed in January; I grieved then made the decision to add another male to my pack. Yesterday I rescued this handsome boy-a Catahoula Leopard pup; he's 6 mos. old and weighs 40 lbs. He has 1 brown eye and 1 "cracked" eye-half blue/half brown. He's too smart; immediately rounded up all the toys and dog bones and laid on top of them. The other dogs seem to accept him, and tolerate his puppyness. I’m one lucky gal.

Just returned from the vet w/my pregnant Plott Hound...drumroll. We counted 8 pups for sure on her x-ray, maybe 2 in hiding. ETD is 7-10 days.

He's still a looks like a fun loving dog. You said he was a smarty - what's he been up to?

He has staked out the property and patrols it like a sentry. Discovered if he leaps high enough he can catch a butterfly; yet will flop on his side at the mention of going inside for the night. He loves watermelon and dislikes toads. He also is helping to fill the hole in my heart from losing my Dobie.
