I was 5'4" when I was 11...

I'm still 5'4" :bawl:

I don't blame you, but 4 inches taller is better than nothing. I'm 4'9' 3/4 inches tall (almost 5'0") and I haven't grew since I was 19 years old. Yes, I was small for my age since I was born. Petite runs in my family and all males are "short" in my side of family as well. The tallest for males on my side of family are 5'7".

I just realized that I will be still in booster seat until I'm 18!

And this is my point. I will keep my kids safe but I don't need the government telling me how to do it.

how would you feel if the government had put psa's on tv, ads in the paper/magazine's etc. but han't actually made it a law?

a lot of people are arguing that the government shouldn't force you to protect your kids, that you will do what you need to do to protect them, but without the info from the studies that prompted the law, how would you know that they still needed to be in boosters?

My point excatly! That's why we need government to make things "law" because parents don't always know what's right and wrong. Not everybody watch TV, read maganizes, attend Moms' Club, or anything like that to learn the latest safety updates.

Every time I drive through Great Mills Road, I always see alot of parents driving around with kids in backseats and front seats with no carseats/boosters and they are infants and toddlers! They were jumping and rolling around about in a moving vehicles on the roads. It scares me.

In My Opinion
how does that work when traveling?
if the state you are coming from says one thing, and then you drive through maryland on your way to a different state worth stopping in, are you driving illegal since your kid is not strapped in according to the maryland law?

do you have to have different types of car seats and whatnot for every state you drive through?

Do you think Omally should be in a car seat based on his brains functional age?

that is a very good question! I would guess that if you have an out of state license you would get by with a warning or something.

abso-friggin-lutely!!!

The increased requirements apply to cars registered in Maryland. Cars registered in other states but driven in Maryland are only required to use car seats if the kid is under 4 or less than 40 lbs.

You have to obey the law of the state you are diving in. Just like radar detectors. Just because you have one in Maryland doesn't mean you can use it in VA.

And no, MOM should not be in a car seat. They save lives, and who wants that?

That was also changed in the new law...

OLD LAW: Out of state cars still need a kid in a car seat if they are under 4 or 40lbs.
NEW LAW: I don't give a damn if you are registered out of state you still need to follow our laws.

Nope...it's hard to read in the version that is currently available, that I posted, between strike outs and brackets and other crap...but that section about out of state cars is bracketed...meaning that it was in the existing law but has been deleted by the new one.

When my daughter was an infant about 5 years ago the government said every child should get a shot for the rovo virus? (spelling is probably wrong - it was a long time ago) So I gave my child the shot. Guess what --- A year later they took the shot off the market because of to many children having problems with it. You should never just trust the government with a blind eye. I hate to bust your bubble but the government is not always right. It is governed by humans and no one is perfect.

You should go to the dentist and ask him/her to remove any fillings if you have any. I hear they're tracking us through them. :ohwell:
