:yeahthat: and Huntr1's the HOA prez so you'd have to really mind your P's and Q's, if ya know what I mean. :bubble:

Wow you guys answer quick. As for the traffic, we aren't worried about that. Nothing could be worse than here. We live in San Diego, and Dave has to leave at 4:30, and he works at 6, 15 minutes away!

I'll check out all the info you guys gave me as soon as I can. Right now I have to take care of my little angel. I'll probably be back on in the morning. Thanks again for responding.

Hey CC,

Can you give me link for the UMUC info, please?

My alma mater. I had some really good instructors (and a couple of horrid ones) from there, but overall it was a very good educational experience. :yay:

What are the rates up to now? When I started in '90 ('91?), they were $97 a credit hour.

Well, :dur:. I was referring to more in depth info about their online programs. I visited months ago and didn't find much. :ohwell:

I thought they had info on their site

Navywife, what kind of setting are you looking for? Do you prefer privacy, or neighborhood life? How far do you want your commute to be every day?

Hey, we're headed into the area also so I have been combing the housing sites. While my dh will be stationed at PAX, I've been looking at the Waldorf/White Plains area. Mariner's Cove caught my eye but then I ran across some info that said that Section 8 housing is going in near there and so the values will most likely drop. Any info?

Forgot to mention that we have a rather large family so I'm searching for at least a 4 bedroom house. It would be a touch fit for us in base housing. We also hs and have a daughter who is really into ballet. I'd welcome any suggestions. Thanks!

I'm a former resident of Scripps Ranch (all cinders now) and moved to Southern Maryland. Now I'm being relocated to the Tidewater area due to work, and have just bought a house in Chesapeake. The housing market is extremely competitive in VA Beach/Chesapeake, and it is not unusual for a prospective buyer to have to overoffer by as much as $5K for a house.....homes in really desirable neighborhoods sell in one day. The only homes being built in Va Beach right now start in the mid-$300's!

I've got a nice 5 bedroom colonial for sale right now, just a quick trip from Gate 3 in Cedar Cove. Here is the link

My daughter attends Ballet Caliente in Lexington Park. The owner is a former ballarina that performed with San Francisco Ballet as well as several other troupes. She is wonderful with the girls, I would highly recommend her studio if you come to this area.

I like Mechanicsville. It's much closer to PAX than Waldorf/White Plains area.

Mechanicsville would be my choice, just my opinion. I live in the White Plains/Billingsley Road area of Charles County. Your hubby would be close to work, and you are not far from Waldorf. But, the big plus is you are away from the heavy Waldorf traffic and the crime.

The homes at Hickory Hills are nice if you buy one that's already built! Trust me, you don't want to deal with the builder. I know of a Dickerson model for sale by owner (built in 2002). Only thing is that it's only a 3 bedroom and you need a 4 bedroom, but one of the non-master bedroom is around 15'x16'... and they are asking $227K. I can get you the number if you are interested.

Oh, yeah, Hickory Hills is at the corner of Chancellor's Run and RTE 235 (Sheetz). Which means if you have to turn onto 235 from the development, there could be some wait, but it's only 3 miles to Pax Gate 1 or if you take the long way (don't turn onto 235) it's 6 miles to Pax Gate 1 or Gate 2 (your choice!).

Thanks for the information...I'll do a little research into Hickory Hills. I must admit that all the references to porn/low income housing/drugs has made my husband and I rethink buying a house. Perhaps we would be better off just putting everything in storage and taking military housing!!!
