What a beautiful horse. :huggy: Must be an easy keeper, no risk of colic there. :howdy:

:howdy: The park is located by taking Rt 231, and about 15 minutes past Hughesville. Here goes....From Rt 5 take Rt 231 toward Benedict. Go approximately 4 miles and right after you pass Riviera Kennels you will make a left @Teagues Point Road. Take this to the end and make a L @ Maxwell Rd and tada....you are there. You will find a gate with a lock. This is a "members only" facility. Once you become a member you will be given a combination to the lock.

Charles County parks & recs have been working on this project for 3 years. They have put in some really nice trails that have a sandy footing, so they should drain very well. And the parking....They spent over $30,000 in putting in 2 parking areas that will hold some 50-60 trailers. They put blue stone down so parking year-round should not become a issue. There currently are 7 miles of trails, which seems to be equivilent to about 2 1/2 hours of riding. They are in the process of putting in another 3/5 more miles of trails, so this time next year it should be a good 3 1/2 to 4 hours of riding. And that still is only early phases of what they have planned. About the arena....They currently have not put in one and I do not recall any discussions on doing so. That would be a good question to ask at the open house. You can call 301-932-3470 and ask about making a reservation to attend one of the open houses. Hope this helped answer some of your questions....keep a eye out in your local tack shops for flyers they should have them out by now.

Do you know what the membership costs per year ????
The sticker for a trailer is 50.00 for a two year period. The trailer is entitled to a max of 4 horses a visit, at this time. They are in the process of considering trailers with a larger volume at possibly a greater rate. BTW what are you doing awake?

but you have to reserve a spot at the open house right?
i'm going to try to go to both.
I just called to reserve a spot for the open house and found out that including Oct.28 & Nov.11th, two additional days have been added for the open house, they are Oct.26 and Nov.8th time 9:00-3:00. They are going to limit each day to 40 trailers and don't forget to bring your coggins. Flyers will be coming out on Oct.1 so keep your eyes open.

Since they have added 2 additional days for the open house it sounds as though they must be getting alot of interest. I have reservations for October 28th. So if your going that day lets arrange a time to meet up and we can tail gate at the trailers afterwards.

I also reserved a spot for Oct.28th,Would love to tail gate and meet some you here on the forums. I just sit back and observe the forums most of time. I find them very informative at times and I can keep up to date with the local happenings. I'll just keep checking the forums as the time gets closer.
