New Online Safe Firearm Storage Map Helps Marylanders Find Locations to Temporarily Store Guns

Question - would the offsite storage of firearms be considered a transfer under law? If so, aren't the number of transfers limited per month?

I have no intention of ever placing my firearms where I couldn't immediately access them, but something just doesn't seem right with this.

I was on my way to the Eastern Shore safety storage location when our boat was hit by a surprise squall, we were lucky to get out alive, but we had to throw all excess cargo and weight overboard, but it worked, we survived

I'm really going to miss all my guns.

It's the government, what could possibly go wrong?

I think they give themselves immunity if they give you bad advice and you get screwed, you can't hold them liable.

Reading Comprehension is obviousness NOT your Strong Suit ...

The map, found at mdsafegunstorage.org, currently lists more than 30 businesses throughout Maryland that can provide temporary, voluntary firearms storage. These locations include law enforcement agencies and gun stores.

Now Go read some articles about how RED FLAG Laws are being misapplied or abused and tell me again how citizens should TRUST ANY Gov Entity with their Firearms

If you cannot string two dissimilar thoughts together to form a theory then this discussion is over you are to clueless to comprehend the topic at hand

but then you wanted everyone else to wear a mask for YOUR Safety

This stuff drives me insane, too. The average consumer of modern media has a memory shorter than that of a gold fish, and cannot put any one story in the context of any other. But we're the crazy ones.

Insulting people isn't a good way to have a conversation, but maybe conversations aren't your goal.

This list was not created by a governmental organization. Where someone chooses from this list, if they're silly enough to use it, is their own business. It's not the government coming for (y)our guns, it's a bunch of do-gooder students with a "bright" idea.

I could see using a storage business if I was going to be on a long trip or something, maybe deployment.

My uncle is a gunsmith and his go between is a jewelry store downtown ( he lives in the middle of nowhere). Always thought it was odd, people bringing their guns into a jewelry store.

Uh, Bernie just did:

and other posts above implied a concern about the government taking guns away or misusing this opportunity.

Again, this is a private group of do-gooders making a list of private sites. Nothing to do with the State or Feds.
Private group or not, they would require state permits / licenses to store the weapons.
They are effectively taking custody.

I would be careful about what one says about firearms on social media. Just sayin’.

Sometimes people need to be reminded and while it may not have been created by a government agency, it lists government agencies.
Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence is linked to Everytown for Gun Safety which just so happens to be the organization that is funded by Michael Bloomberg - who just last year bought the elections in Virginia.

Source, please? Doesn't surprise me but I'd like to read up on that connection.

The fact that Bloomberg threw his own private money at a group does NOT make it a governmental connection.
