New Online Safe Firearm Storage Map Helps Marylanders Find Locations to Temporarily Store Guns

Sometimes people need to be reminded and while it may not have been created by a government agency, it lists government agencies.
Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence is linked to Everytown for Gun Safety which just so happens to be the organization that is funded by Michael Bloomberg - who just last year bought the elections in Virginia.

I think the "to prevent gun violence" is a trademark of Brady related groups, while Bloomberg related groups use Everywhatevever for, Mom, Dad, Mayors, Rutabagas demand Gun Safety. That "against gun violence" and "for gun safety" is the big clue who they are aligned with.

Source, please? Doesn't surprise me but I'd like to read up on that connection.

The fact that Bloomberg threw his own private money at a group does NOT make it a governmental connection.
Sometimes a brick is a brick.
Hint - use Google (as a start), do your own research. I did.
If the government isn't shutting it down, it's supporting it. If it's the state police, it's the government. Nobody with a FFL is going to do anything to put that license in jeopardy. It would be safe to assume the government, ATF, has condoned the activity.

What type of brick do you identify as?

Its a storage service, no different that dropping a firearm off the be test fired and cleaned. Some gun stores have been doing it for decades.
Oh and folks lose FFL's every week in America for doing stupid things..... Normally is missing or firearms sold with no 4473 or incorrect transfer being done.

Asking for a friend
If they were Red Flagged (police report only) could they secure their firearms offsite and avoid having the gestapo raid their home to seize them?
Or would the gestapo simply find them at the off site storage facility and be able to sequester them from there?

I have possession of one of my lifelong friends firearms for close to ten years now.
He lives in Montgomery co Md, he has some mental health problems and a nervous neighbor called county police on him.

Now he has never been in trouble with the law in his life....

A few county officers gave him a visit the next day and they came to the conclusion his firearms and ammunition needed to be removed from his possession.
He was given 48 hours to either,
Turn them over to the county for storage.
Sell them to a FFL dealer
Or turn them over to another sound person.

He has no family to turn them over to, So I loaded my suitcase and drove to Md.
The officers were not happy when I along with a longtime local FFL holder were at his home the next day loading my truck and trailer....

I mean, depends on what those mental health problems are. Lets face it, some folks should have their stuff taken away.

BD, you know the man, what do you think, should he have firearms around the place?

Well. Hes a Delusional Paranoid Schizophrenic that has never hurt anyone and has never broken the law. No court took away his civil rights, local LE did.
Its easy to read about his mental health problems and simply agree with what has transpired here.
But the reality is this, his rights were trampled on and continue to be trampled on.
He has committed no crime to lose his God Given Rights.
So as difficult as it is in these situations his Rights should be given back and never should have been taken in the first place...
We lose our Rights because of what we have done, not because of what someone thinks you might do.

You are doing a good thing for him.

I have a friend that actually did try to hurt himself, when he was changing meds I tried to talk him into having someone hold onto his weapons for him but he just couldn't understand why. I was worried he would hurt himself again, so far he is still ok, I sure aint going to have the 5-0 take them away from him though. He has never had a desire to hurt anyone but himself as far as I know.

Thanks, its a very difficult situation at times. We met at church when in nursery school and eventually went to HS together. It always easy to understand with taking away someones rights over mental health until it happens to you or someone you really really have known for 58 years....
Good luck to your friend....

I have been to the edge of that Abyss with the Dark Beast of depression riding my shoulders.
Fortunately, I always think about the effect my deeds will have on those for whom I care, and that anchor helped me keep from jumping in.

Keep being a friend, and he may realize there is hope.

Well this friend has not tried to hurt anyone, himself included. He's seeing a MD (Psychiatrist) and a PhD (psychologist / therapist) for med management - A++ personality, lots of stress in his life, was irritable, so the doc put him on anti-depressants. Maybe calmer, but still the same.
This family member was just sticking him where it hurts - because they can.
So I guess this fellow is red flagged?

My friend? This was done long before red flag laws...
Mont co had / has a few officer task force that investigates when someone calls in a complaint dealing with mental health and having firearms accessible.
I dont know if they still handle things like they did then. Hopefully it goes in front of a Judge nowdays with due process instead of an officer making the decision.

Remember. All doctors, even those mental health doctors, are "practicing" medicine. Mental health doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, though, are more so practicing opinions. These are nothing but pre-crime ESP wanna be's. Aka, to be in lock step with the political class.

Are you really that ignorant? You don't think they can't diagnose mental illness or that it doesn't exist?
