Yeah, Summit Point main is a track that I am very familiar with. VIR is another. I run HPDE's with NASA mainly, but have been invited to and ran with the Mazda club, Porsche club, and BSR. I am also an enduro kart racer, racing the same tracks.
Nice.. I'm always open to new things.. if you have details, ie. dates, times, pricing, etc.. I'll see about trying it out.. I dont have a very FAST car.. but its nice in the turns and for the most part fun to drive.. I wanted to get this thing on a closed road course.. for a while now.

Well the driver is what counts for the most part when driving on a race track, so don't worry about all the mods and spend the money on track time.

I was driving through Waldorf last night and came across the "car meet" that goes down in the Red Robin/Safeway parking lot on Western Parkway on Wed nights. I was impressed with the number of people that were there, but the crowd didn't look all that inviting. Is there anyone on this board that goes to that meet regularly? What age group do you think it caters to?

I usually park somewhere else and walk over there. It's a pretty diverse crowd. When it comes to age range, car meets usually cator to a younger crowd.

Floyd and I have been a few times... There are all types of ages...Mostly the 16-25 year old range.. You will see a few older people there... But not many...

I used to hang out with that crowd a couple years ago. They kept getting the cops called on them. I only used to go up there because I had a couple friends that were there.

Never been, and frankly dont find it worth the drive or trouble.
After the Idian head fires the cops rode that crowd really hard. I had the FBI question me for a couple hours asking about all these people that hung out there. I kept telling them I only knew like 4 people that hung out there.... Didn't help matters that 3 of the 6 arrested I knew. As sfar as I know I was never a suspect, The FBI called my cell phone to set up the questioning and said they only wanted to see what I knew. I stopped talking to everyone there like 6 months before the fires

Yeah, that sucks.. I wouldn't want to get wrapped up in ish like that.. it only takes one to ruin it all for several people.. especially if you have jackasses like that.. lol..

Save your gas. At least there is a Coldstone's there, if you do go to the meet.

I view it through a long telephoto lens from the safety of the wife's Santa Fe.
