Gavin Newsom Threatens to Charge Ron DeSantis with ‘Kidnapping’ Migrants

California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued a statement on Saturday accusing the state government of Florida of being behind the transfer of the migrants, who initially crossed the U.S. border in Texas.

Millions of migrants have crossed the border, many illegally, since President Joe Biden has taken office. Texas has a policy of relocating some migrants to other states and cities, often “sanctuary cities” run by Democrats.

Florida, too, has relocated migrants who were initially sent to the state. Last fall, DeSantis sent a planeload of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, the offshore haven where the members of the Democratic Party elite have homes. The island, unable to accommodate the migrants despite the proliferation of political signs welcoming immigrants to the country, relocated the migrants to a shelter on a mainland military base within 24 hours.

Newsom, who spends a great deal of his time on social media trolling conservative governors, especially DeSantis, accused DeSantis of kidnapping on Monday, though there is no evidence DeSantis was involved:

Obama, Bernie, Pelosi, Biden, Kerry, Democrats who want these illegals in this country don't have extra rooms, THEY HAVE EXTRA HOUSES.
But you don't hear Adams or anyone else saying these rich democrats should take in illegals.
NO: they want to pay people in the ghetto to take them in.
Take them out of the squalor of their native lands and put them in the squalor of an American ghetto, where they aren't much better off than in the place they left. Where looting riots and shootings abound.

Hypocrisy?

Newsome is still what the Democrats are looking for - rather than wait for 2028, if Biden were able to persuade Harris OFF the ticket and replaced with Newsome, the Democrats who are apprehensive about Joe would vote for the VP.

Back in earlier times, the party picked the VP candidate in order to garner additional votes usually from other geographical areas. Think Lincoln's first VP, Hanibal Hamlin. They would have thought nothing of kicking Kamala off the ticket if it meant winning the election.

They may yet pull something. She may give some reason for not continuing, while in reality - she will have been “persuaded” to leave.

Barring that, Joe may yet pull an LBJ and drop out next year.

I’m skeptical. The political winds don’t favor Trump gaining any voters past his otherwise extremely loyal base. Having a lock on say, 40% of voters still doesn’t win elections. And polling among Democrats has shown - they’re not at all enthused about Joe in the slightest - but not disaffected enough to not vote for him.

I just don’t see how Trump gets it back without a believable message. Gotta say, he can’t sell the wall this time.

I don't believe Biden or Kamala will be on the 2024 ticket.

Newsom: ‘We Own’ ‘Disgraceful’ Homeless Problem We Haven’t Made Progress on, I’ve Only Had Four Years and Have Different ‘Dynamics’

After host Sean Hannity asked why that’s the case, Newsom responded, “Because housing costs are too high, our regulatory thickets are too problematic, localism has been too impactful, meaning people locally are pushing back against new housing starts and construction. I’ve been here four years, I can’t make up for the fact [that], in 2005, we had a historic number of homeless under a Republican administration.”

Hannity then cut in to say, “Right now, there [are] 171,000 estimated.”

Newsom cut in to respond, “Disgraceful. Disgraceful.”

Hannity then stated, “I’ll compare to Florida, again, 26,000. Same weather, similar state.”

Newsom countered that Florida has a higher population, and the “dynamics are very different. That said, we own this, Sean, I’m not here defending this.”

“Visiting a bookstore with banned books in Boise.”

Let’s pause a minute and think this through.

When something is banned, it is removed — like a Republican president can be banned from social media platforms. It becomes illegal and cannot be found or obtained. Yet, here is Governor Nuisance, clowning around in a store full of so-called banned books, prominently displayed for sale. In a dark red state, no less. How is he able to do this?

Because, as with so many other words, “banned” does not mean what the Left says it means. To the Left, a book becomes “banned” if a responsible adult points out that it’s pornographic and not appropriate for minors.

“Book bans are at a record high — there have been over 1,200 challenges in the last year…” tweeted Gov. Tiresome, giving away the game by conflating “banned” with “challenged.”

The rest of the video is similarly idiotic. The text changes to “2022 set a new record…” while the image behind it shows the books The Color Purple by Alice Walker, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, and a book by Judy Blume. Of course, Toni Morrison has received more awards and honors than I have space to list in this article. Walker and Blume have sold millions of books, been widely read by multiple generations, and have even reached the writers’ pinnacle of having major motion pictures made from their books. But, you know — they’re “banned” or something.

Newsom’s video could not be any more nonsensical or patronizing, but progressives will eat it up and preen:

Butler has lived in California, and owns a home in the state, but lives in Maryland and must register to vote in the Golden State before becoming constitutionally eligible to replace Feinstein, who died Friday at the age of 90.

Lee has been running to replace Feinstein, whose retirement was announced earlier this year. Butler may be able to run for the post as well, once she has taken office, angering Lee’s backers.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported:

“It’s going to hurt him,” Fred Jordan, chairman of the board of the San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce, said Sunday. “Those women in South Carolina that gave Joe Biden the bump, they’re gonna be outraged.”
Jordan called Newsom’s appointment of Butler “disingenuous” and said he “has not fulfilled his promise” to appoint a Black woman to the seat. He wanted Newsom to appoint Lee, who he called “the most qualified” person he could have tapped. He slammed Newsom’s comment earlier this month that appointing Lee “would be completely unfair to the Democrats that have worked their tail off. That primary is just a matter of months away, I don’t want to tip the balance of that.”
Molly Watson, deputy director of California Donor Table and a board member for the Black Women’s Democratic Club of Los Angeles County, congratulated Butler, but was also “baffled” that Newsom did not choose Lee. (Butler previously served on the donor group’s advisory board.)
