No Access to National Harbor from Fort Washington

Quick check on crimereports.com shows around 70 incidents in the Mechanicsville area, 130 in the Lexington Park area, and a whopping 400 for Fort Washington. That was over the last 6 month time period. The ones in the Fort Washington area have been labeled as assault, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, theft from vehicle and vehicle theft. While the other 2 areas have some of the same stuff, the amount of crime is not even comparable.

Not sure if you also realise how easy it would be for someone to park in the NH and walk the pedestrian trails to these high class neighborhoods and cause trouble.

I've always wondered why National Harbor was almost completely closed off to the surrounding neighborhoods.

exactly which 'neighborhood' do you live in,

because 'affluent' Fort Washington aka Tantallion is further DOWN the River rather than next to National Harbor

what is NEXT to NH is Fort Foote Neighborhood, hardly monied like Tantallion, with many of the houses built between 1965 and latter 1970's, further around the bend towards the south end of Fort Foote Rd, houses went in as late as the early 80's

and yes Access is restricted to up by the beltway ... this complex was Parris Glendening's WET DREAM, a lot of us in S. PG did not want this here, GD could care a less, he could not see it from his place, and he wanted the increase in TAX Base for the County

If by riff raff you mean some of the most affluent residents of PG county then yes. You do realize that there are significant numbers of 500K plus homes directly south of NH right? Median value is around 340K.

I was a juror in a federal trial for some of said residents..........atleast 5 of PG's "most affluent" were drug dealers.

I'm not going to assist in your laziness. The data is available on crime reports.

Ok, so share some other data. Such as which marketing company employs your services. This is the wrong forum to gain votes for NH or any of its dubious "quality of life" advancements.

They can't take Fort Foote Rd. and come in the back way?

EDIT: Nevermind, there used to be a way to get to the NH from Oxon Hill Rd.

I guess they closed that.

It's still there. Had an accident there in August when some hot rodding car thief made a left turn across my through lane then ran after the collision. Not a safe place to drive after darkness falls.
