As much as I personally would like to see smoking banned ...... I know it will just kill all of you "smokers". I don't like the smell it leaves in my very thick, curly hair and my clothes - YUK
I will stand outside with my fellow smoker friends while they get thier "puff" on though!

Why not allow establishements to CHOOSE whether to make there places of business smoke free or not? Oh wait, that's the way it is right now!

I was talking to the owner of Toots... and thats what he said, if he is willing to take the risk, of losing business because he has a smoking establishment, thats his business, not some schmuck who wants to go to a BAR and not deal with cig. smoke.
Drink at your damn house if you don't want to deal with it.

I only smoke when I drink so that will end my smoking. I hope it doesn't go through. Nothing is better than a Cognac and Coke with a Newport.

Actually, Ray was the one telling me if he wants to smoke in HIS BAR, he will, they can go elsewhere... So why would Ray be ok, with more of our so called rights being taking away?
I smoke, if I go to a bar, I expect SMOKE.. now resturants, I don't care, I don't like people smoking around me while I eat, I'm all for the restuarants.. but bars.. for crying out loud...

Here in upstate NY its been banned everywhere unless the bar owner or resturant owner wants to pay a huge payment to the state to allow smoking in there places but most decided against it and I actually like going to places and not walking out smelling like a cigarette. I also have long thick hair and the smell hangs around. I personally hope that the ban goes through so if I end up in a bar for some odd reason when I come back to MD I don't have to wash my clothes the second I get home and take a shower to get the smell off of me. I am all for smoking outside 2nd hand smoke is the worst for us nonsmokers.

Thats why I own a washer and drawer, and pay utilities so I can take a shower when I "smell bad"

There is no more right to 'ban' smoking than there is to ban people with a criminal history, people with head colds, liberals, those who have pet dander on their cloths or people with b/o even though all those 'classes' of folks are demonstrably bad for you as well.
