No Sex With Wife After seeing Her Give Birth

The first time I ever witnessed this event was about 11 years ago. Since that time, I think I've only discussed the event out loud twice. Both times with Mrs Toxick. I dunno - maybe I'm the freak, but the topic of actual birth rarely comes up - not the event of childbirth which all dads talk about, but the actual act of birth... the baby crowning and the sequence that follows - particularly around a bunch of dudes.

Point of order though: While MrsToxick was in labor with the youngest ninja, they offered her a mirror so she could witness the act (with the other ones, no mirror was offered), she said OK. As soon as she saw what was going on she told them to get rid of that ####ing thing.

Other than that it was a good day. :)

Lots of people be having babies at our work these days. I think they were talking to one of them that's preparing for his first.

On that same note, I kinda wonder why people would want to video the birth. Actually, scratch that, I wonder about people who want to show the video to others. And now it's my understanding that some places no longer allow videos or pictures during the birth due to the malpractice suits that arrise later.

They put up a mirror so I could watch. I thought it would be like, you know, watching yourself get a shot or stitches so it doesn't hurt as bad.

Um, no.

And what the hell - I'll just be completely gross. The baby coming out wasn't so bad. What was like a slasher flick was the afterbirth. :twitch:

I choose not to include that as a part of the miracle of life.

By that time, I was usually a bit punch-drunk, cutting cords and hardly noticing anything anyway.

Worst part: Watching circumcision :twitch:
But that's usually a day or two later.

When my two daughters were born, husbands weren't allowed anywhere near the delivery room. Hell...they were lucky if they could get into the labor room. Of course this has been years ago. My thought on the whole daddy in the delivery room is this..."you're there to place the order, you better damn well be there to pick it up.":howdy:

But I now realise I was far from alone. A recent survey by parenting website Netmums revealed that three-quarters of couples make love less than they did before they had children. [/QUOTE"]

Which I would imagine is more due to the general exhaustion of providing complete care to a brand new individual than what this man went through.

Duh ........ your busy taking care of the child

Hell, giving birth is so yucky that even I didn't want to be there. I sure as he'll didn't want anyone else there with me, too.

With a vivid memory, that canyon wouldn't be the most pleasant place to practice the yodeling skills.......

This really gets me...so guys dont want to see their S/O giving birth because it may be a turn off for future sexcapades. But, you men can stand at the toilet, door wide open, holding your business, trying to aim and you think we look at that tool has a sex toy after your bodily fluids have just been expelled from it ? Know matter how amazing you think are while you're standing there, trust us wimmins...it aint all that!!!

My husband was giving me a play-by-play of everything that was happening with the first one. It was NOT appreciated at all! I was also offered a mirror to watch and refused it. After hearing what was going on down there, I didn't not want to see it myself. I did get a little nervous when my husband asked the doctor if I should be bleeding that much and that it looked like I was going to bleed to death soon.

The second one came so quickly, the doctor wasn't even ready for him. She went to check me and he was nearly crowning. I didn't even feel anything. A few pushes and he was out.

But... the thing that my husband cherishes most of being there was as both of our sons were coming out, they each turned their heads and looked at him. He thought that was the best thing in the world.

Oh, and I was not one of those women who had everyone in the room with me. It was just my husband and I.

I have absolutely no intention of continuing this conversation.

I know many people are against this procedure. I see you are one of them. Your disapproval has been noted.

Not really against it. I just don't see the point. It is plastic surgery and that's it.

It is plastic surgery and that's it.

A couple of posts ago you called it "mutilation". This is the word used by anti-circumcision people when they refer to the procedure. Very much like people who are against corporal punishment refer to a spanking as a "beating".

Assuming you're asking out of curiousity and not to get into a debate, here's why: Health, hygeine and tradition. In that order.
