Okay, you animal nutties...

Jam out with ur clam out
...have finally succeeded in shaming me into buying better food for the kitties. Went to Pepper's and got some samples of dry food, plus bought a bunch of canned chow for Claudia.

So far they seem to like it okay - usually they freak out at any food they are unfamiliar with.
:drama:

she came to the dark side with us.... :faint:.... here have a cookie :howdy:

glad to have you here with the rest of us food snobs :huggy:

:ohwell:

This was with Evo dry and BFF canned. My suspicion is it's the canned because Kiki usually pukes when she eats canned food, which is why she normally doesn't mess with it. Maybe curiosity got the best of her, or it smelled better than the other stuff so she thought she'd have a taste.

Anyway, the cats who DO eat canned food give BFF two paws up!

Could be she just eats too fast..and of course you are changing food which can cause some upset.

Mine get mostly canned food and I put down a set amount of dry...not an endless supply.

When my pup gets too old for the puppy chow the "breeder" :bigwhoop: started him on...I am going to head to pepper's to get something decent for him to eat...when is a good time for doggies to switch to "big boy" food?

If you feed a good food, it is not age specific.

It is. Normally she barfs if the bowl runs dry, which is why I try to keep food in it at all times. She sees the empty bowl and thinks she's never going to be fed again, so when chow shows up she snarfs as fast as she can, then yacks it all back up. Keep in mind the bowl is never dry for more than maybe an hour, but she has limited mental capabilities.

But canned cat food always makes her barf for some reason, no matter how much of it she eats.

Anyway, the BFF canned got gone lickety split. Not sure if it was because Claudia and Gidget liked it, or because DumDum gobbled it all up. But I have another can so we'll see...

Why the hell would you want to waste money on high-quality food to extend the life of your cat when there are soooooo many other cats waiting on homes.... think of the orphan kittens!

Adopt me please !
I let mine feed themselves from the gravity feeder. The new shelter girl is a fat pig (expected as most starving cases beef up then level off later) and my older former feral appears to have lost some weight. I am concerned about the former feral as she's showing signs of being picky about the litter box now, and doesn't want to use it if it's not totally clean hmmm. Her stools are not firm either - so I started mixing canned pumpkin into canned food for her daily, but it hasn't made a different in her stools. Now what?

The fat piggy girl has medium length hair with some long hair .... and she's one of those with thick hair all over (on her feet too) ... so I end up trimming her back end to minimize messes. It's NOT easy to hold a cat down and trim her at the same time LOL - I should setup the tripod and video the ordeal LOL.

I go to Clipper's for California Natural. It's on Solomons Island by the Pier. Their store is nice.

What exactly is nice about it? The dirty carpet? The cave like ambiance due to the lack of lighting? Maybe it's the put upon attitude you get when you walk in the door? Oh no , wait, I know. It's the way over priced "gourmet" cookies that you can order for a quarter of the price anywhere on the internet. Yeah, great place.

The California Natural was a bust - Kiki sat there and complained at it until I dumped it and filled the bowl with something else. Seems the Evo is the winner with this group.

I couldn't care less about life extension - I just want Kiki to stop puking all over the place.
