I would sure love to know why Al Qaeda is so hopped up about troops in Iraq - considering they don't have anything to do with each other and all. :bubble:

I haven't been able to post in awhile and I did not have the amount of patience it requires to read all the pages of this forum but I want to say something about the Socialist victory in Spain. What the Spanish did in their election here a couple of days ago was essentially tell the world that it should surrender to the terrorists. But my friends, that will not satisfy these people. Pulling troops out of Iraq and Afganistan will not appease these people. They will not sleep until every nation in the world is ruled by a fanatical Muslim. Spain has done nothing to decrease the terrorist threat to their nation by pulling out. In fact they may be exacerbating the terrorist problem by showing weakness to these extremists. It is truly a shame.

The latest angle...

...I've read about Al queda and Spain is that, apparently, in Islam, if a nation was ever ruled under Islamic law, then it must ever be so.

In the 1300's Spain was ruled under Islam. So, at least part of the attacks is part of the never ending obligation to return Spain to Islamic rule.

Anyone wanna rationalize with THAT?

Breaking news:

Al Qaeda calls Truce in Spanish Territory

And all they had to do was elect a prime minister that the terrorist approve of. How delightful.

So all we have to do to get the terrorists to leave us alone is cave into their demands, elect who they like and do as they say. Kudos to Spain for this discovery. And for empowering barbarians.

Maybe the election of the new Spanish prime minister was'nt a bad thing. If you look at why alot of people like Bush it will be because of his war on terror and the greater level of security he has brought to the U.S. So can we say the terrorist may help elect Bush? Sure. Im sure if I were a terrorist I would not want Bush in office, therefore the electing of Bush if indeed he is elected a second term will not be deliberate as the Spain attack seems to be.

Does al-Qaeda's reaction to the war in Iraq give anyone second thoughts as to whether there is or was a connection between them?

*SUPPOSEDLY*, they despised each other - that bin Laden *hated* Saddam. So why do they kill Spaniards for helping Americans in Iraq? Don't the two have "nothing" to do with one another?

I suspect that bin Laden is just trying to jump on the bandwagon and position himself as a hero in the Muslim world. The old "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" approach. Hell, Saddam was a secularist, but he wasn't above using Islamist rhetoric when it suited his agenda.

Yes, it is a shame, and I also am sure that is what Al-Quada and all the muslem nations want for the whole world.

This is one of the main reasons why I am voting for President Bush in a second term. Kerry is too shifty for me, and he and his fellow democrats would falter to terrorism the same way as Spain's new Prime Minister. For Kerry serving in Viet Nam, he did so, but if the truth is brought out, he will be seen for what he was, and still is, a COWARD. The threat of Viet Nam was also no where near what the threat of terrorism is today, and the extremists wanting to push their beliefts on all of us. I will vote my conscience, and I hope and pray America will stay the course against terrorism, and vote theirs.

Dunno if it indicates a connection or just an illustration that any excuse will do, such as a "friendly" nation banning scarves. As the appeasers appease more and more, so does the demanders demand.

I'm confused about the article in yahoo, that claimed the terrorists said in their statement that they want Bush to be elected, rather than John Kerry...

Did I read that wrong or can someone explain why they would want that?

It's called "reverse psychology" and they're not very good at it.

The statement said it supported President Bush in his reelection campaign, and would prefer him to win in November rather than the Democratic candidate John Kerry (news - web sites), as it was not possible to find a leader "more foolish than you (Bush), who deals with matters by force rather than with wisdom."

In comments addressed to Bush, the group said:

"Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embellish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as civilization."

"Because of this we desire you (Bush) to be elected."

The group said its cells were ready for another attack and time was running out for allies of the United States.
