Hey Canuk...

Better be on the watch....I heard you might have some permafrost creeping down on you from the great white north.

anyway, Ophelia seems to randomly drifting and oscillating between storm & hurricane...no steering currents, just drifting.

And for those who have Screamed RACIST!!!! in my Karma, you have no idea who you are dealing with....I find it kind of funny.
So if your reality includes following Farrakhan up to his spaceship, or twisting Stadium rioters into civil rights victims,...have a nice day,...just don't stay too long in your fantasy world.

Tropical Storm Ophelia is edging nearer the Carolina coast this afternoon. In the process, the feet-in-molasses storm has hurled an extremely heavy rainband very close to the South Carolina/southern North Carolina shore. As of noon, blinding rain and wind gusts as high as 60 mph were just a few miles from the beaches and expected to move onshore shortly.

With the storm forecast to continue its slow-motion assault on the region, the arc of squalls will march gradually westward and northward. Rainfall totals over the next couple of days in northeast South Carolina and eastern North Carolina of 5 to 10 inches (isolated 15 inches) are not out of the question due to the storm's recalcitrant movement. Thus, flood watches are posted for a large chunk of the eastern Carolinas. Ophelia's landfall, probably somewhere along the southern coast of North Carolina, is forecast to occur tomorrow morning with the storm thereafter tracking northeastward toward the Outer Banks. And, since Ophelia is looking much healthier this afternoon than yesterday, the cyclone could swirl ashore as a minimal hurricane. Minor wind and storm surge damage are possible (as are "weak" tornadoes), but the main threat from the plodding Ophelia will be heavy, flooding rains.

You better hit Tackle Box first and pickup a boat, I don't think your shopping cart is going to hold out too well. :huggy:
