Paving Rt 235

They were working every night other than weekends. One night it was just making the transitions a little smoother. I said stripping not striping. I don't know about TX, but I lived in AZ for quite a while. They repaved out there too. During the day. And winter visitors are the worst drivers in the USA.

No visual evidence (lanes closed, big flashing lights on bigger machines, people wandering aimlessly in travel lanes) at 3:45 AM that any work was being done for that week. I know they repave other places too. They actually have a plan to do it and follow it.

Not sure when they started. I think 8/14 or 15. The stripping and fixing the transitions were done in about 4-5 days. I know they were done by the 21st or 22nd. They started repaving the 25th. They don't work on Fri night or Sat. night. Don't blame them, drunks on the roads. So I don't see more than a day or 2 gap.

I may be wrong but I think this is just the first of 2 coats. Doing it all at once would create a huge difference in lane heights and would be dangerous for the non-driving out of towners.

Looking at some of the left turn lanes this morning that they did not strip I see they don't come up to the curbs either. Shady Mile they do.

I leave my house at 3:45 AM (No later than 4 AM) Monday through Friday.
All lanes were stripped by the weekend. Sunday the 18th/Monday the 19th it rained in the AM - No work evident from that point on until YESTERDAY the
26th. Perhaps they were packing up and leaving before I drove through, but I saw no people or equipment or evidence that any more work had been accomplished on 235 in either direction for an entire week.

I was just out, and noticed that too. There is about 1-2" difference between the new road surface and the cement edging. I'm thinking another layer goes down.

I think this is correct. The road doesn't even come close to the gutter drains. In some places you can't even feel the transition between stripped and not.

Ok. I guess I didn't see new pavement when I rode my bike up to D.C. Monday morning.

Saw a PSA on Rt 235 paving from Wildewood to Hollywood that supplied status, cant' locate... Does anyone know when this stretch is going to be paved? Trip to Waldorf using this stretch during last Friday's monsoon, beyond dangerous...
cheers

They need to do something from the Great Mills intersection and south. It's really getting rough through there.
