I swear, this is the most backwards place I've ever lived when it comes to the roadways.

I don't understand the reasoning behind anything they do regarding roadways and traffic. It's like they encourage vehicle damage and accidents around here.

They don't want anyone to have nice things!!!! :cds:

if they keep messing with us, they think they can get rid of the annoying base people and get back to ol country living. they don't need nice things. only the dumb base invaders do.

I'm actually referring to more than just the repaving but, since you asked, this is the second time they've repaved in the 4 years I've lived here. I travel 235 every day from Wildewood to the base and agree with the other opinions that this is unnecessary or premature.

They win. They can keep Maryland. I already have an exit strategy in progress.

But!!!

It is a good way to hide political Money. Didn't you know it took 67 billion dollars to repave two lanes of the four that didn't need it.:cds:

Are they planning to pave it anytime soon? Was down there today, would have been way to easy to use this nice weekend weather and less traffic to take care of it.

i'll think of one.....

this seems like a no brainer, one would schedule the stripping of the old ashphalt (however many days need to be alloted), and then the day after stripping is complete you would have scheduled the paving to begin (weather willing of course). there is no reason to strip it and then wait weeks to pave it.

No there isn't. Don't know if the question has already been addressed, but is this State money or County money repaving the road? That might explain at least some things.

It gives more citizens the chance to enjoy the fruits of their labor...

Two inner lanes on each side were paved as of this morning. For the section I drove, anyway (heading north to Town Creek).

They did not wait weeks. They also did a bit of stripping of the side roads. They started repaving Sunday night.

State road, state money. I'm just wondering how long the people that think it wasn't needed think the State should have waited? Until there were rims being bent or broken? They had to patch that section up for the last several years. I'm sure it was in the budget to be done so it was. Sure is a thin coat though. Does not even come up to the low edge of the curbs.

They waited a full week PLUS 2 weekends to begin repaving...and no one gives a shiite about side road striping ftards can't stay in a lane with or without visibile stripes. Oh yea the freaking signals from Expidition to Airport View were all hosed again in the wee hours. Texas or Arizona, I don't care which, just out of here ASAP!

They were working every night other than weekends. One night it was just making the transitions a little smoother. I said stripping not striping. I don't know about TX, but I lived in AZ for quite a while. They repaved out there too. During the day. And winter visitors are the worst drivers in the USA.

I may be wrong but I think this is just the first of 2 coats. Doing it all at once would create a huge difference in lane heights and would be dangerous for the non-driving out of towners.
