No one is being ignorant. Now had you paid attention in driving school...........Jaywalking is illegal. Everywhere. Period. Had he been in a crosswalk and gotten hit, that would be different. But since he wasn't, and he was drunk...he Is at fault

He broke the law. Here's the law.:

§ 21-503. Crossing at other than crosswalks.
(a) In general.- If a pedestrian crosses a roadway at any point other than in a marked crosswalk or in an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, the pedestrian shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching on the roadway.

You need to get over yourself. The driver was not in error. Mr. Morgan made a bad choice. Alcohol continues to be brought up over and over because it is most likely that alcohol was a factor as to why he did such a stupid thing. People make bad choices and die because of their bad choices everyday. He is now a statistic.

FYI- I didn't know he was black until I saw his obituary in the Enterprise, so the race card isn't working.

Whisper, Ken Rossignol has no racial bias. Say what you will about him, but he busts on all who deserve it equally, with no regard to race, creed or religion.

Your buddy or relative or whoever he was got drunk and walked out in front of a car. He's dead now. It's not the driver's fault, it's his own fault. And trying to blame the driver just makes you look like a race-victim fool.

I did not know he was black. It is very sad what happened. You need to feel sorry for both families. Can you imagine being a young 17 year old, new to driving, trying to obey traffic laws, and something like this happened? This young person will be scarred for life!! I could not understand the anger projected towards this young driver. For family members to rush to the accident site and start attacking the driver is a shame.
