People Are Dying in Nursing Homes - Why aren't They Being Closed Completely?

So people are dying in nursing homes from the sweet-n-sour sickness right here in St. Mary's County. Is Dr. Brewster from the Health Department threatening to close them down and move all patients to another location? I imagine no visitors are allowed in nursing homes and all staff are wearing masks to protect the patients, so why are patients still dying if masks work?
I really would love to know what Dr. Brewster and the rest of the clown car from the Health Department are doing about the REAL problems, not going around harassing independent businesses struggling to STAY in business. Case in point:

Her emotional Facebook video runs almost 6 minutes. It details the difficulties her family has encountered with the Chesapeake Shores nursing home in Lexington Park where her father is a resident.

She questions the level of care Johnny Martin has received. Martin suffered a stroke back in August. The incident left him paralyzed on his right side and impaired his speech. He’s been at Chesapeake Shores since October. To quote Milburn, “It has been a nightmare.”

...
Due to COVID restrictions, the family was not able to be with him in person. They decided to bring him home and care for him there, but COVID-19 stalled that plan. Martin was originally supposed to come home on December 1.

His roommate tested positive for COVID-19. Milburn said that instead of isolating her father, the nursing home moved him into a room with another patient whose roommate had tested positive for the virus. Martin tested positive for COVID-19 on November 29. “Days before that, we knew he had it. We called him and he was gasping for air. Now we’re being told that he won’t be retested for 90 days.”

The reason it spreads so fast in nursing homes is because staff has to go room to room quickly, the quarters are tight and the people in nursing homes often can't help coughing and touching everything. Anything spreads fast in nursing homes. There is serious examination on how they operate now and things such as home care being more of an option will be the future.

Most nursing homes I've seen have people packed in tighter than a college dorm room.

The one my mom spent a single night in was the size of the smallest bedroom in her house and the bathroom was shared between two rooms and had no doors.
NH is not a good place to be EVER. But now.......awful. Family can't even visit to check on them.

I may need a rain check on that. I've got something going on right now - sore throat, icky stuff that won't come up and won't go down, cold nonsense.

I was hoping you'd have icicles and window cleaner but I think Ace hardware in Leonardtown may have them. I don't know what's up with window cleaner, everywhere I went yesterday...nada. Got that spray bleach stuff - haven't seen that in months, got Lysol spray something - bought that - don't know what the hell to do with it. I mean seriously have you ever read that label. Spray it on something that you want to kill germs on and wait ten minutes for germs to die. TEN MINUTES!!!! Who in the hell has ten minutes? It does have a nice scent. Linen. You can't clean windows with it though. I really need window cleaner. It's like everyone in the whole area decided to clean windows this weekend or something. I must have missed the memo.
Window cleaner: 1/2 White vinegar and 1/2 water. Works good.
