I'd be interested to see how he chooses people to win. I've had it happen before at Cecil County that I "just happened" to be paired up with the other car from MIR that I traveled with in the first round, but I don't think I've seen it where the winner was predetermined.
And sockgirl77, I believe that rumor was started due to the overwhelming amount of 10 second cars on the property for the race. When I went through tech, I was the 15th 'D' class car, whereas there were already over 60 cars combined in the E and F classes. The odds were heavily in favor of a field somewhere in the 10 second range.
Which was your car? We were on the finish line in the pits and I watch just about every car pass. Another friend of mine was in the "F" class. He got up to the box and lost his distributor. That sucked ass. Majorly. He's a good driver and I thought for sure that he'd do well.
