I'd be interested to see how he chooses people to win. I've had it happen before at Cecil County that I "just happened" to be paired up with the other car from MIR that I traveled with in the first round, but I don't think I've seen it where the winner was predetermined.

And sockgirl77, I believe that rumor was started due to the overwhelming amount of 10 second cars on the property for the race. When I went through tech, I was the 15th 'D' class car, whereas there were already over 60 cars combined in the E and F classes. The odds were heavily in favor of a field somewhere in the 10 second range.

Which was your car? We were on the finish line in the pits and I watch just about every car pass. Another friend of mine was in the "F" class. He got up to the box and lost his distributor. That sucked ass. Majorly. He's a good driver and I thought for sure that he'd do well. :ohwell:

Did you see the feature cars? There were some great cars in there. A true variety of cars/trucks showed up this time.

Nope, was no there for this one. Got eff'd last winter with the infamous website fiasco. 4,800 hits trying to buy 400 spots... man I was P'Od that night! Then for the Qualifier the 2nd time trial session, if you hit dead on your dial, they gave away 2 spots. I ran a 9.997 on a 10.00 dial. Missed out by.003 of a second.

That sucks. I will tell you, I've made a lot of passes in my time racing, won multiple track championships, one national championship when I was 16 and lost another national championship by .018 seconds when I was 12, and going up to that line with all the cameras and people and everything for that race on saturday was just as nerve wracking as any of them. I couldn't even imagine the emotions if something went wrong once you got into the burnout box. I have an blue '81 Camaro called $um Toy. If you see a Jr. Dragster down there with the same name, thats my old car that I passed down to my younger cousin.

Which one was it, Heaven Sent or Hell Bound? I would bet the latter... that car was bass-ass, made my Chevelle look like a Chevette. :lmao:
It was the race one not the street one!You remember. LOL, they surprised us didn't even know he had a ticket he pulled the car off the trailer on to 234, then drove it on my street, thought Boh had started Matthews car, then looked out the door and seen it was him driving the car up the driveway. Then he showed us his ticket to the Race. What a surprise!

Oh, I think I saw it pass. I'm still amazed at how many cars were there. So many different types. There was an Indy pace car there.

Yeah, I think I know what cars you're talking about. It's been a while since we've been racing consistently so I'm not as familiar with all of the regulars like I used to be when I was younger, but stop by the trailer and say Hi some time.

Pro stock looking S-10? Kid with kinda long curly black hair? If so I've raced with him, he's only like 19-20 years old. He's been racing for a while, used to run Jr. dragsters. Glad they persevered and put on a good show for everyone. MIR is a class A facility, with class A management. That's hard to find in a dragstrip..
Not the guy...Red S10 and he was 24yrs old. Here is a link to the s10 PINKS ALL OUT - MIR - 06/20/09 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
