Chris Klemens from Rockville. His Camaro was awesome. He beat an S-10 from Delaware.

They went with a low 9 class because some fans waited through 3 rain storms to see the races. It was the lowest times ever on pinks and I must say it was a great choice by the Speed, MIR and Pinks staff to go with that class.I race because I love it, but I also bracket race because everyone has an equal shot. It was a great event overall and I am more than proud to continue to support and participate in grass roots drag racing. And I am very thankful to PINKS and the people at Speed who have support grass roots drag racing. It's a great sport that was dying, but hopefully it will continue because I don't plans to stop racing any time soon. But from what I saw on saturday, not everyone had an equal shot, and I have a problem with that.
And MoparRacer896, no I ran in the D group. When I saw how many E and F's there were, I knew that we really didn't have much of a shot to get into the show anyways. I was holding out hope that they weren't gonna pick the mid-10 second cars again because they were picked last year, but I was very surprised when they picked a group out of the low 9 second cars because it seemed that there weren't that many of them bunched together.

Yeah, because heaven forbid I be upset that I spent 3 days, money on entry fees, gas, food, and everything else down there for nothing, especially when I could've taken my car to Virginia and ran 2 $5000 to win foot brake races. Almost half the field was running high to mid 10's, they couldn't find 16 out of those 200 cars? All of the evidence just points to a set-up.

Thanks! If I get my hand on a sticker I might mosey down there for a Friday meet.
Pat had a marine 454 motor in it the first time he fired it up and tweaked the frame. Dumb-dumb could not get it to hook up so he reworked it...
He was talking about giving the car to his oldest when he got his license but I think most of us talked him out of that.
Thanks again for the info!
Certainly seen his car there, we had two nephews in the show(not in the final show). Had two of our home team in the final show though Charlie & Larry, but didn't make it to the end, but did their best. I personally had two great days of fun! And got my moneys worth there for once and I am there every Saturday with my son and several other family members who are in points at MIR.He took an old Busch series (roundy round track) stockcar, made it street legal, and raced it on the straight track.

As much as I wanted to see more locals in it because they were in the D-F groups. I loved watching the faster ones. It was truly and exciting weekend.
It was a very exciting show. The S10 was leaving the line on 2 wheels but still got left at the start by the younster driving the Camero.Faster cars are more exciting to watch. The 10,11,12 second cars get boring after a few go down. With the quicker machines, they are harder to drive/handle, tune and just be consistant every run. About 1,000HP to the rear wheels for a low 9 second pass.
And I bet the "Pinks" show gets very good ratings, because of the fast field..

Take your car to Old Dominion Speedway and see what kind of an equal shot you get there. I'd be willing to bet PINKS is more equal playing ground than ODS is.

Dude, I've been drag racing since I was 9, please don't try and lecture me on what is and isn't part of racing. All I'm saying is that it seemed very fishy that we heard a month ago that they were gonna try and get Charlie into the race and he ended up int he final 16. If Royce or Jason posted up the breakdown and showed me where that was the closest group possible, I'd have no problem.

One was interviewed with the 69 chevelle which used to be ours on Saturday, but both cars didn't run what they usually do. Not sure what was really going on with them. Even with the heat, one of them is always there every weekend and know what it runs with that heat and this was the worst it has ever done. The cameras were all over him. They did an hour long interview with him on Friday.
How did your nephews do?

We were hoping for one other car to be in also, that would of been my son, he was there also in May for the quailifer but didn't make it in, I felt bad for him. One nephew bought one in January. The other one, got the 80-th ticket they gave away that day in MAY such LUCK!!!!!!!!
BUT we all were there to support one another and to have fun. That is all what is was about.
