What you have started is another "BASH PIT BULLS" thread and managed to get everyone stirred up even more with your title!

dogs by nature are prey driven animals.... their ancestors killed to survive. Yes...no dog kept as a family pets should kill livestock.... but there are several breeds of dogs that hunt and kill rabbits, squirrels, and other rodents.

SO MY QUESTION TO EVERYONE IS...............

IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE PIT BULL BREED THAT KILLED THE GOATS?
OR
IS IT IN GENERAL THE GOATS WERE KILLED BY A DOG?

SONSIE.....
WOULD YOU STILL HAVE WRITTEN THIS ARTICLE IF IT HAPPENED TO BE YOUR DOG THAT KILLED THEM? (LETS JUST SAY IF YOU OWNED A DOG) (PROBABLY NOT!)

WOULD YOU STILL HAVE WRITTEN THIS ARTICLE IF IT HAPPENED TO BE A LABRADOR RETRIEVER THAT HAD KILLED THEM? (PROBABLY NOT!)

TO EVERYONE THAT IS ALL FOR KILLING THE DOG BY SHOOTING IT OR BY POISONING IT..... JUST THINK ABOUT THIS:
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF IT WAS YOUR DOG THAT SOMEONE IS GOING TO KILL?

THE PROBLEM STARTS WITH THE OWNERS LETTING THEIR DOGS RUN AT LARGE!

I cant wait till LACIEGIRL get to see this post!!

Thanks COWGIRL for seeing it the right way.. even if you dont like the breed

]First I have always owned big breeds, and I have never had a dog kill anything....nothing.....and most of my big dogs have been rescues from either people or the pound. They have played with cats, kittens, ferrets, kids and all is good.....they never get rough.

The neighbors male cat on the other hand is killing everything that moves....birds, moles, rabbits, squirrels, mice and he keeps bringing the kill over to my porch..............:smack:

If my dog was biting or killing, I would shoot the dog myself.......

My point is............if any animal is biting or killing then its time for the animal to be put down no matter what the breed.

I'll assume you are talking about dogs here. I'd pay my cats will get off their overstuffed butts and actually start killing mice. I've got a few mice in my pony tack shed that dash about and freak me out when I go in to get grain. To top that off I surprised an enormous snake in there yesterday who was undoubtedly mouse hunting!! :jameo:

Attack Pit Bull with 5 Kids!

When one of my sons was a teenager he came home with one
of his friends and a American Terrier pup (Pit Bull -I am sure).
He said his friend wanted to give him the dog, and I, as a good
ol' dad said no way! No pit bull. His friend left with the dog, I was
relieved and my son never forgot. He is now married (his daughter
celebrated her 2nd B-day today) and they have a 6 months son.
But they also have two dogs now, a half lab and a Pit Bull. When
he got that new pit bull pup I was worried. It grew into this huge,
strong animal with the saddest eyes, but it is a very lovable and
loyal animal. My wife and I just needed to get over worrying about
what it might do to his kids. Sometimes we dog-sit that pit, with
our Labrador Caesar. They get along great.

Now the story--once he came over with the pit--we live right
across the road from an Amish farm and the Pit saw the mules
grazing peacefully in the field and that Bull went absolutely nuts
chasing those mules every-which way! He latched onto a mules tail
and the mule was hoppin' and jumpin' and kickin' all over the place,
and that Pit Bull wouldn't let go until the mule kicked it right in the
jaw. All this time I yelling at my son to get that &&***dog back here,
and we all sounded like a pack of crazy people shoutin' about that
dog. Now my son knows he can't ever let it see a horse, mule or
any big animal, 'cause it always seems to start on the leash when
a horse goes trottin' by, which is every few minutes in my neighborhood.

I put down two three of my old or sick dogs myself--Labs. The last
one bit my Uncle visiting from England a a few years back. I always
told the kids if our dogs ever bit anyone that that was it! The dog
must go. This was the first time it happened, right out of the blue,
but there were a few warning signs early on. You just steel yourself,
take your pet out for a last swim or whatever and go into the woods
and do the job.
