You're barking up the wrong tree here. This is silly. All I know is what has happened shouldn't have or wouldn't have if the owner wasn't such a dumb@#$. Regardless of the type of dog..

I agree. Barking up the wrong tree? I'm simply defending a breed of dog that did something bad because it had idiot owners not because the breed is inherintly bad as you're claiming.

You may have seen two horses, but the rest of us have seen dogs go after someone/something almost on a daily basis. Please find an article in the newspaper for me about an attack horse.

I was only showing the red karma someone else sent to me. That was not what I said. I said I have never seen a horse run after and attack a dog.

I'm confused as to why some of us are quick to defend a dog that bites a person that univitedly enters a fenced yard, yet are ready to blame a horse should a dog uninvitedly venture into a fence pasture...

Because a person is responsible not a dog. I don't understand why that's so hard to understand.

I know that. I was responding to the karma comment.

Pitbulls are unpredictable to say the least. I am now suffering the loss of my mini mare due to the attack on her at 1 am while she was asleep in the pasture by two of these dogs. The damage done to her was horrible. She lost her battle to live this past Sunday. The owner/s of the pitbulls didn't even have these dogs in a kennel. As I later found out, one of the pitbulls unprovoked attacked one of their other dogs very agressively just a few weeks prior to their attack on my horse. Oh but they have been "sweet" other then that!!, was a comment made to me. Yes, Pitbulls can be and are very dangerous especially if their owners are irresponsible.

Cowgirl she did it here. Pitbulls are in fact VERY predictable and are NOT dangerous in the hands of responsible people.

Pixie, I was referring to the comment you made about "So barking warrants a kick? ". I just don't think that makes sense. I never said they as a breed were inherintly bad. What I did state is that they are unpredictable, aren't a breed they I personally care for and that the fault of what happened should be on their owner.

I made that comment in response to cowgirl saying that she's never seen a horse kick a dog unless the dog was barking at it or chasing it. My dog barks at the leaves on the ground; doesn't warrant a kick.

You stated the breed was unpredictable and dangerous. I don't agree. I think they are very predictable and only dangerous when in the wrong hands.

Well, as much fun as it is to disagree here, I'm getting tired of going in circles. My problem was with your statement about saying she could never be sure that her horse did not provoke the dogs. That's the only thing you've said that I disagree with.

You mean "her horse"?

And I'm sure I mentioned that it could have been unintentional.

I made that comment, difference is that leaves don't have prey behavior so of course they shouldn't get kicked. If a dog runs up to a horse barking at it non stop, is around their feet and chasing it, then I say yes they will probably get kicked at or even kicked.
