This is usually solid advice. Perhaps the OP had a situation where the kid sought out advice on how to proceed.

But generally kids will figure out on their own what is in their best interest.

Plus, you do not put iceberg and mayo on the hoagie and the roll is a fairly hard roll, not a loaf of white bread.
