Plea for help

Pop a Mirena (new safe I.U.D.) when a woman goes on welfare. Require her to show proof that it's in there the entire time she's on welfare. When she is completly off the system, remove the damn thing. Voila!

:runningandducking:

There you go. That is workable. That is handling it at the level it needs to be handled. Even though some will still argue it is against their religion to use birth control, if they don't comply then benefits go bye bye

Nahhh, I say give 'em depo shots. That way, you KNOW it's in there. And they get their check quarterly when they come in for the shot. THAT'S how you make damn sure they're not gonna get knocked up. :yay:

I do agree with whoever it was that said (some time ago ... another thread, perhaps?) that people on public assistance should undergo routine drug testing as well in order to get their assistance checks. :yay:

And with that, I'm going to bed ... so I can get a good night's sleep and have a productive day at WORK tomorrow so I can continue to provide a warm meal on the table, a nice roof over our heads, and clothes on our backs for my family ... because that's what responsible parents do! :howdy:

That is a better idea.

1) "Tighten down on welfare" is NOT a suggestion. That's a generalization. How does she suggest we "tighten down on welfare"? She didn't.

2) You should feel no shame in accepting public assistance, in your situation. Your's is not the kind of situation I'm targeting. You had a legitimate need; you weren't being lazy. And you didn't continue it for life as others have made careers of doing. So good on you for using it how it's meant to be used! :yay: And I'm sorry to hear about the circumstances that put you in that predicament.

And now, I'm (really) going to bed.

Not to be rude but yes it is. Make requirements tougher and the length you stay on shorter. Make the qualifications stricter. Force them into jobs by attending training then give them so long to find and hold a job. When time is up time is up.

Thanks I appreciate that. But it does not matter. When you use the food stamps or the wic people automatically look down on you. You cannot explain to everyone why you are using it. They just assume you are a lazy ####### eating up the money they work for. I never felt so embarrased when I had to use my wic vouchers or my food stamps. I was humilated. But we had to feed the kids. Thankfully we forced ourselves back to work and got back on our feet. We kept beating ourselves up for not having more set back in savings.

I am so sorry to hear that. I am sorry if I offended you in anyway.
